HOW TO MAKE

YOUR OWN
DEAD OF WINTER
GAME BOARD
in 13 relatively easy steps, by RabiBlackDog

www.be.net/rabidblackdog
You will need

Materials:

a) Printed board pieces.

Note: Print on A3 without fitting

b) 3mm thick cardboard. You need enough to make six 28x28

cm squares.

c) Nice paper for finish (it can be of any colour, although

neutrals like white, gray or black look the best). You need
enough to make six 30x30 cm squares.
d) Spray adhesive

Note: make sure you are using it on a

properly secured surface. If you never
used this kind of adhesive, try it with
something else beforehand, so you will be
sure what you’re doing later.

e) Piece of a textile, preferably synthetic. Enough to make

five 28x3 cm stripes. It can be of any colour, as it will be
barely visible.

Note: before proceeding further, make

sure that the cloth of your choice won’t
colour the printed pieces of your board.
Make a test by spraying both sides of a
little piece of it it with adhesive, putting it
between two pieces of copy paper and
squeezing hard. When the qlue dries and
there is no colouring on either piece of
copy paper, you’re good to go.
Tools:

a) Sharp knife

Note: Make sure you’re cutting on

properly secured surface.

b) Metal ruler (at least 30 cm)

c) Some kind of roller (e.g. wallpaper roller, dough roller)

Golden Rules:
- read the whole manual before doing anything

- always check everything 3 times

before cutting and gluing

-don’t cut or roll on the same surface that

you were spraying adhesive
1.

2 4 6
Note: Very important! ideally, these
pieces would be 28x28 cm, but
depending on the printer and its
margins, it could be slightly smaller.
For example, mine were 2mm small-
er. To avoid any future complications,
measure your printed pieces and cut
the cardboard pieces of exactly the
same size. In the future, if this manual
mentions “28 cm” again, use your
measured size if it’s different.
3.
Cut out two copies of each shown piece from your finish
paper:
