especially because there are factors to consider.

2. The Area of Grasp of 2nd Year BSMT Students on Marine Communication //


- This study aims to measure the extent of knowledge of the students taking
Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) in the University of Cebu
Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue with regards to Marine Communication, specifically on
Radio Communications and devices. This study applies the descriptive
quantitative approach of research utilizing numerical data to identify, describe,
and spot trends and patterns, as well as to propose possible solutions and
recommendations in line with this study’s, as well as the researchers’ identified
topic of interest. This study is set to be conducted in the University of Cebu
Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue, with the second-year Bachelor of Science in Marine
Transportation students as the target respondents of this research. Furthermore,
as this study employs a quantitative approach, the researchers will utilize survey
questionnaires to gather data.
3. The University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue’s Marine Transportation Program
: Factors Influencing Female Student’s Decision in Choosing BS Marine
Transportation
- This research will focus on determining the factors that affect the decisions of
female college students in choosing Marine Transportation as their
undergraduate degree program. Factors, for this matter, refers to the set of
different situations or decisions that influence the result or the outcome of
something. The respondents will be identified through asking the list of all the
female students from the First to Third year college students of the Marine
Transportation department by the researchers. The researchers will then be
handing out the survey questionnaires to the female college students online
through sending Google form links. After gathering the data, the researchers then
collated it so it may be analyzed and computed with the respective answers of
the respondents and point out the factors that greatly affect their decisions upon
choosing Marine Transportation as their choice of course.
4. Level of Awareness of BSMT Students on Annex I to Annex VI on MARPOL
- The motivation of this research is to get a result if the respondents are fully aware
of the situation our world is facing, whether having a high level of awareness on
shipping operations towards the environment can provide or benefit them in
terms of their work performance and if having this level of understanding can
affect the skills of their work performance and contribute to the protection of the
marine environment. The researchers would want to provide necessary
information related to the research and help them in a way that may assess the
different kinds of maritime jobs that are and are not fully aware of the
environmental impact that the maritime industry has contributed.
5. Family’s Influence on Maritime Students Choices
- Several factors may be considered in selecting a school and degree program like
quality education, the people from the environment, personal choice; and
accessibility of the school from students' residences. This study utilized a
descriptive type of research method with Freshman Maritime students as
respondents. Findings revealed that it is the personal choice of the students to
enroll in a maritime program in University of Cebu Lapu-lapu and Mandaue, with
the support primarily from their parents wherein quality education through being
known as home of board topnotchers and its standards are considered big factor
for their decision. They also believed that finishing maritime education would
bring them employment abroad which is basically the nature of duties and
responsibilities of seafarers. High interest towards the degree program is also
manifested among the maritime students.
