What is Facebook?
Facebook is a social media page or application that is accessible to everyone
worldwide. Aside from posting images, status updates and sending messages to
loved ones, users may also utilise Facebook as a tool to first set up their online
business. There are many features that can benefit your business platform, such as
advertisements, postings, product showcase and many more.

How have I used Facebook for my online business?


Using Facebook even as a first time user was a very interesting experience and the
social media page was easy to navigate. I was able to set up a Facebook account
for my personal branding, while subsequently opening up my brand page
‘Nonscentsical’. Reaching out to potential customers was convenient as I can just
follow the people that Facebook has recommended to me. Posting my content to
continue my relevancy and status was made possible with the posting feature that
Facebook has. I can insert a caption alongside the pictures that I post to capture
people’s attention. Not only that, I can also include multiple hashtags to reach a
maximum amount of customers as possible. To conclude, Facebook offers a lot of
features that can be used for an entrepreneur.

My Facebook Followers
I managed to acquire a number of over 100 followers on my Facebook page. This
achievement only took me 2 months to achieve, and what I do to consistently get
others to follow my Facebook page are as follows. I make sure that I post
frequently, at least once a week so that I can keep people interested in my page.
Secondly, I make sure to follow back everyone who have followed my page and give
them a ‘thank you’ message so that they will feel appreciated.

Challenges
Having people interact and engage with my Facebook page proves to be a
challenging activity, as most people nowadays do not use Facebook as their main
application for socialising. However, it is not an impossible task. As long as I remain
consistent with my content and my posts, I am able to garner a loyal base for
current consumers and potential customers.

This Facebook teaser post is to promote my new product called Cloud Eau De
Parfum by Ariana Grande. This perfume was released by a celebrity and
popstar. Therefore, I had the idea to use her face as a feature for all of my
teaser posts so that it can catch people’s attention. Consumers will usually get
excited and are more inclined to buy products that are associated with their
favourite celebrity.

What is Facebook Hard Sell Post?
A Facebook hard sell post is when you urge your customers to buy your products by stating
the price and call to action. In this case, the post that I have uploaded contains the price
and the name of the product. I am informing the customers of the products that are
available on my page, alongside its price. This is because, people would more likely purchase
a product when they know the exact price. However, hard sell does not work on all
customers. Hard sell can be seen as too straightforward and blunt. Customers will assume
that you are trying to get their money quickly. This is not the case whatsoever, because
when hard sell is utilised in the right way, it can be a useful method to inform customers
about our products and the details that accompany it.

Facebook Marketplace is a digital platform for business owners or entrepreneurs to
showcase their catalogue. There are many helpful features available, such as
boosting a listing or creating an ad for that listing. Facebook Marketplace is very
helpful for online entrepreneurs like me because I get to put the listings of my
products with ease. It is so easy to fill in the forms of the listings, so that the

This is my Instagram business account. It is complete with all the information
needed to know more about my business. My profile picture is my business logo.
The description of my Instagram business account has my slogan, and a call to
action for customers to click my link to WhatsApp me. There is also my personal
Facebook profile and my business Facebook page in the link form so that it would
be easier for customers to access.

My Instagram Followers
I managed to secure a following of more than 800 followers on my Instagram page.
This was such a wonderful experience, as I got to connect with a lot of potential
customers from many different states in Malaysia. Having a good Instagram
account with a satisfactory number of followers can allow me to gain many more
potential consumers as they view a large following as a trustworthy account.

Instagram story’s feature is a great way to quickly update customers with your
lates content. Most users on Instagram will be compelled to swipe on Instagram
stories because it is so easy to use. We can take advantage of this opportunity and
post catalogue updates, price updates, discounts, flash sales and more. In my case,
I decided to post motivational quotes to connect better with my customers.

are a great way to connect with you customers, as they can ask questions to you
and you can reply immediately.

What is WhatsApp Broadcast?
WhatsApp Broadcast is tool and feature in the WhatsApp social media application,
where you are able to create a broadcast channel and share information with
certain groups of people. As an entrepreneur, this feature saves me time as I get to
update my loyal customers about recent changes or news without having to
message them individually. With WhatsApp Broadcast, I am able to send a text
message towards hundreds of people simultaneously.

What is WhatsApp suggestive selling?
Suggestive selling is when you suggest the most suitable products toward your
customers according to their likes and dislikes. In suggestive selling, we can also
remind customers of ongoing promotions or coverage that the company covers. In
my case, I have offered to my customers of a refund and return policy, where it is
valid within 30 days after purchase. This can make customers become more
appealed to buy our products, as our suggestions might be helping them make up
their own mind and decision. The coverages or warranty available will make the
customer even more happy.

What is WhatsApp upsell?
The upsell method is where we encourage customers to buy or add more of
what they originally plan to purchase. With this method, it can go the right or
wrong direction. Customers may not like how pushy a seller is being to force
customers to buy more. However, with the correct usage of upsell, we can
convince consumers to buy and add more. Ways to execute this is to promote
ongoing promotions and limited time discounts.

What is WhatsApp Bulk?
Bulk is when customers are interested to buy products in a big quantity. To secure
a bulk order, we as a seller have to give good deals and discounts so that the
customers will agree to buy products in bulk quantity. For example, what I have
done is offer a free shipping deal for customers who order 2 perfumes and above.
One perfume from my shop is being sold for RM100 and above. If a customer buys
more than 2 bottles, I will be able to cover the shipping costs without charging the
customers. This will enable customers to be excited with our bulk deals and they
will proceed to close the order.

Testimonials are trusted reviews from fellow customers about our products that
they have bought and tested. Posting testimonies on my page is a beneficial way to
gain more customers, as they will notice my products are good quality and worth
