The Golden Age Project


Instructions:
Students will be placed in assigned groups and given the topic Golden Age for either the Roman Empire (Pax Romana) or
The Islamic World (Abassid Empire).
The group will create a poster advertisement for the assigned Golden Age advertising for people to come live in that
region during that period of time.
The advertisement must include - Group members should divide up the work and assign responsibilities!
__ 3 advertised achievements (invention, entertainment, medicine, civil liberty etc.). Must be
drawn and colored.
__ Explain the impact and importance of each of the 3 advertised achievements.
__ Create a map showing the region (Empire) at its largest point. The map must have continents
labeled and major bodies of water near the region. Must be colored with a key showing the region (Empire)
__ Label the city most important/headquarters of this region during the Golden Age. 80%
__ Provide a sample of the written language from the Golden Age of the region (Arabic or Latin).
__ Create a slogan to interest people into moving to the Golden Age of the region.

__ Create a symbol to represent the Golden Age of the region. Example – Nike uses a
