D. Academic Integrity
1. Academic integrity is a core institutional value at CCBC. Students, faculty,
administrators, and staff have the right to a learning environment where academic
integrity is valued, respected, and upheld. For CCBC’s complete policy regarding
student academic integrity, go to the CCBC’s College Catalog: Student Code of
Conduct: Standards of Classroom Behavior/Academic Integrity. Violation of this
policy will result in sanctions according to the Student Code of Conduct.

2. The commercial use of academic material is prohibited under the College’s

Academic Integrity Policy. This includes, but is not limited to, selling of course
material to another person, entity, and/or uploading course material to a third-party
vendor without authorization or without the express written permission of the college
and/or the instructor. Course materials include but are not limited to class notes,
instructional slides, course syllabi, tests, quizzes, labs, instruction sheets,
homework, study guides, handouts, videos, etc.

E. Netiquette Statement
CCBC Netiquette Statement
The rules of etiquette that apply when communicating online are different from those
that apply when communicating in person. Netiquette rules have emerged to facilitate
online interactions in the absence of visual and auditory cues (Marx, 2004). CCBC's
Netiquette Statement is grounded on the principles of mutual respect, professionalism,
ethics, courtesy, and kindness.

CCBC’s Netiquette Statement applies to all individuals who work or learn at CCBC.
CCBC’s Netiquette Statement also applies to all virtual communication methods,
including but not limited to synchronous lectures, discussion board posts, written
assessments, recorded presentations, artistic representations, social media, and
emails.

Macintosh and Windows will be provided to the students. If available, an online virtual
Linux website will be made available to students.

Projects / Lab Assignments:

Projects/Labs are graded based on the completed lab document. A completed lab
document will include the original lab document, correct responses for each
question, and if required, screenshots inserted in the lab document with
corresponding questions.
Quizzes:
Quizzes are timed and based on the module readings, labs, and lectures.

2. Instructor's grading policy

Grades will be based on exams, quizzes, projects, mid-term, and final scores. Final

3. Instructor's attendance policy

Academic Attendance is defined by the Federal Government as not just a physical
presence, but also an active academic presence. Regular attendance is expected
of all students. In a face-to-face class environment, this means login into our
classroom, attending class, completing all assignments on time and responding to
any emails from other students or the instructor within 48 hours. Failure to attend
and actively participate can affect a student’s financial aid and/or veterans’
benefits. Please refer to the FX Grade Policy in the catalog for specific
requirements.

Insufficient attendance and academic participation is defined by CCBC as having

missed at least 50% of class time and having attempted less than 50% of the
course’s graded requirements. An FX grade will be given for a progress grade
and/or for a final grade if these conditions are met. Students will see an F grade on
their CCBC transcripts, and the grade could be calculated into the GPA as an F. An
FX grade will be used internally to document a failing grade due to insufficient
attendance and academic participation. Earning an F or an FX grade may
jeopardize Financial Aid or Veteran’s benefits.

4. Instructor’s audit policy

Students who Audit this class are expected to comply with the instructor’s
attendance policy and contribute to class participation activities and discussions.
They are not required to take exams or complete out-of-class assignments (i.e.
homework assignments). Failure to comply with these requirements will result in a
change from AU to W. Note that the deadline to change to Audit for this course is
February16th, 2024. The deadline to withdraw from this course is April 12th,
2024.
