Introduction
Knowledge is an experience that one gets by experience or study about a subject. On
the other hand, creativity is the formation of something new and valuable
(Ruppert,2010). Without knowledge, we can’t develop new ideas in the emerging world
and knowledge is also the foundation for creative thinking skills. When there is a
combination of certain ideas and application of knowledge innovation occurs
(Salpeter,2003). In this essay, I am trying to focus on obtaining success and gaining
knowledge and creativity at the university level. Through self-evaluation, various skills
are discussed here necessary for university success.

Preparing for Success at University: Knowledge and Creativity

To be successful in one's life one must understand his or her mental state which
includes desire, belief, etc (Puccio,2020). I had to get various development through my
studies. By seeing various issues I have gained positive self-development. When I
admit to my university I think I am in a right place to gain knowledge through studying
and observing others which will help me to increase my creativity. I am in a position that
will help me to improve my decision-making capability and make a judgment about
anything (Conley,2008).

In the first week at my university, I learned about digital literacy. I taught here how to
use excel, word, and Microsoft office with checking the domain credibility. Using word
and Microsoft office has become an integral part of both our academic and professional
life. We can easily solve our course tasks by using that application software. I am still
learning more about that application software and still trying to improve my skill. But
learning new things daily is difficult and sometimes I also face difficulties in using those
new things. For example, still I can not solve formulas using the excel
sheet(Greenhill,2010). Here I also increase my confidence in reading skills that helps
me to improve my writing skill and understand a subject more accurately. I started to
use email in my college life (Heilman,2016). Then I used email only for opening the play
store and for my mobile phone and laptop using purpose. But now I can use email for
various purposes. I always try to collect my lecture material, book, and tutorial nearby
me. Now I do my assignment by researching and checking my grammar incorrectness
in a sentence (Bridgstock,2011).

In the second week, I learned various case-study-related activities and the proper way
of writing an essay. Before those classes, I did not know what a case study is and how
to solve it. but in this module, I learned the proper way to solve a case-related study and
interpret it properly. Previously I have no idea about essay writing but I had learned here
a proper essay format. It helps me to write an essay and an assignment more skillfully.
I also learn about referencing. I did not know the importance of referencing. I learned
Harvard referencing skills with authenticity. this will help me to write an assignment well-
structured. Here I learned about vocabulary and the importance of evidence-based
3

writing and the way to collect information for evidence-based writing. Some structure-
based reports and portfolios are important for my academic life and I also learned how
to check plagiarism. I learned to paraphrase as well (AlMaian,2017). By learning those I
improved my writing skill and wording skills as well.

In the third week, I feel that for gaining experience there is no alternative to practice or
regular exercise (Sheridan-Rabideau, 2010). After gaining experience I can make this
into action and it will help me to understand what is right and what is wrong. Here I
learned about many theories one of them is Kolb’s theory which focuses on doing,
thinking, reflecting, and planning for a reflective practitioner (Brem, 2019). During this
week I learn about research skills and the various thing about critical thinking. Here our
course teacher describes research skills and I learned here how to evaluate several
resources that are necessary for our academic life such as various websites and books
and measure their reliability of those. Here I also learn two techniques about reflecting
thinking one is learning in action and another is learning on the action (Allina, 2018).
Here one thing is noticeable between prepositions in and on and one should know the
difference between prepositions in and on. I know that there is enough opportunity but
sometimes I become afraid of failure. This week I also learned actor-network theory
which is based on relational ontology. Here I also understand that learning is an endless
process and I should always try to improve my reading and communication skills
(Chu,2005).

In the fourth week, we learned how to understand our past work. It means that look
back on our work and understand what we have done and what is our weakness in this
work and how to remove these weaknesses and improve the work. We also learned
how to learn a thing funnily. Looking back to work means that review your work and
seeing the pros and cons of your work. This week we learned how to convert our
weaknesses into our strengths. Here I develop my critical thinking ability. All from my
learning, I am trying my best to become the best person.

Conclusion
The changes in technology and the nature of business globally have placed an
additional requirement for workers globally. For organizational competitiveness, an
employee must show his or her required skill in professional life (Humphreys,2005). At
our university, we have completed several courses that will help in our professional life
by following the proper guideline that we had learned. Now I am in a position where I
can consider several things from a different point of view and make a comparison
between several things. Now I am very much interested to apply my knowledge in a
practical way or on a project.
