5. Terminologies

Credit Application

The credit application on Carflys.com is a vital component in the vehicle financing

process. It serves as the initial step for customers seeking to finance their car purchase.
By completing the credit application, customers provide essential information about their
financial situation, including income, employment status, credit history, and other
personal details. This information allows lenders to assess the applicant's
creditworthiness and determine their eligibility for a loan.
Credit Score

The credit score plays a pivotal role on Carflys.com in determining the financing options
available to customers looking to purchase vehicles. It is a numerical representation of an
individual's creditworthiness, based on their credit history, which lenders use to assess
the risk of lending money.

Lender

The lender on Carflys.com plays a crucial role in the financing process for customers
looking to purchase vehicles. They are responsible for evaluating loan applications,
determining the creditworthiness of applicants, and offering suitable financing options
based on their credit profiles. The lender sets the terms of the loan, including the interest
rate, repayment schedule, and any additional fees. By providing the necessary funds for
vehicle purchases, the lender enables customers to acquire cars even if they do not have
the full purchase amount upfront.

SSN
SSN (Social Security Number), a unique nine-digit identifier issued to US citizens,
permanent residents, and temporary residents with work authorization. It is used
primarily for tax purposes, but it's also employed for various financial and legal
transactions, including credit reporting.

Cosigner

The role of a cosigner on Carflys.com is to provide additional financial assurance to

lenders when a primary applicant’s creditworthiness is not sufficient to secure a loan on
their own. A cosigner is typically a person with a stronger credit profile, such as a family
member or close friend, who agrees to take on the legal responsibility of the loan if the
primary borrower fails to make payments.

Down Payment

The down payment on Carflys.com is a critical component of the car financing process,
significantly influencing various aspects of the loan and overall vehicle purchase. By
making a substantial down payment, buyers can improve their chances of loan approval,
as it reduces the lender's risk and demonstrates the buyer's financial commitment. A
larger down payment directly decreases the loan amount needed, resulting in lower
monthly payments and potentially better interest rates. It also allows for more favorable
loan terms, such as shorter repayment periods, which can reduce the total interest paid
over the life of the loan.

VSC (Vehicle Service Contract)

is an agreement that provides for the repair or replacement of various car parts and
systems after the manufacturer's warranty expires. Often referred to as an extended
warranty, it typically covers major components such as the engine, transmission, and
electrical systems, depending on the plan chosen.
Payment Frequency
Payment frequency refers to how often payments are made within a given period. This
can apply to various financial obligations such as loans, mortgages, insurance premiums,
and subscription services. Common payment frequencies include monthly, bi-weekly,
quarterly, and annually.
Title Fees
Title fees are charges associated with the processing and transfer of ownership of a
vehicle, property, or other assets. These fees are typically incurred during the sale or
purchase transaction and cover the administrative costs of legally registering the new
owner's title with the appropriate government agency.
Leads
Leads are potential customers or clients who have shown interest in a company's products
or services. In the context of sales and marketing, leads are typically gathered through
various channels such as online forms, social media interactions, trade shows, and
advertising campaigns. The process of converting leads into actual customers involves
nurturing them through targeted communication, offering relevant information, and
addressing their needs and questions.
Own Home Outright
Owning a home outright means that the homeowner has fully paid off any mortgage or
loans associated with the property and holds complete ownership without any outstanding
debt.
Leasing
Leasing a house is similar to renting but generally involves a longer-term commitment,
often ranging from one to several years. A lease agreement is a legal contract that
specifies the terms, conditions, and duration of the tenancy, providing both the landlord
and tenant with a more stable and predictable arrangement.

Monthly Rent/Mortgage

Monthly Rent: This would be the recurring payment amount that a tenant is expected to
pay for renting a property each month.

Mortgage: This refers to the monthly payment a homeowner makes to a lender, which
includes both principal and interest on a home loan.
Stipulations:
Stipulations in a credit application refer to the conditions that must be met for the
approval of the credit. These conditions can include providing Proof of Income, Proof of
Residence, Proof of Insurance, Driver’s License and References of 5 relatives or nearby
peoples to assess the applicant's creditworthiness.
Test Drive:
"Test Drive" is the process where a potential buyer takes a vehicle for a test drive to
evaluate its performance, handling, and comfort before making a purchase decision. The
system may track details such as the date and time of the test drive, the vehicle being
tested, the salesperson involved, and the feedback or outcome from the test drive. This
helps in managing and documenting the sales process efficiently.
GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection:
GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) insurance in the context of a buyer order is designed
to cover the difference between the amount a buyer owes on their vehicle loan and the
car's actual cash value in the event of a total loss or theft. When a car is financed, the loan
balance may be higher than the car's depreciated value, especially early in the loan term.
GAP insurance protects the buyer from this potential financial shortfall, ensuring they are
not left owing money on a car they no longer have.
APR (Annual Percentage Rate):
APR (Annual Percentage Rate), which represents the yearly cost of borrowing money,
expressed as a percentage of the loan amount. It includes not only the interest rate but
also any additional fees or costs associated with the loan, providing a comprehensive
measure of the true cost of financing a vehicle. This helps buyers understand the total
expense of their loan over a year, making it easier to compare different financing options.
Sign and Test Drive
Sign and Drive test is a promotional event typically offered by car dealerships, where
potential buyers can test drive a vehicle with minimal hassle. This means that customers
can sign a few necessary forms and drive the car for a test period without the need for a
down payment, extensive paperwork, or immediate financial commitment.
MNT (Maintenance)
Maintenance (MNT) refers to the regular and routine upkeep of vehicles to ensure they
remain in optimal working condition. This can include tasks such as oil changes,
inspections, cleaning, repairs, and part replacements.
AP (Appearance Protection)
Appearance Protection provides coverage for the repair of minor dents and dings,
scratches, and damage to the interior of the vehicle.
Add-ons
Add-ons are additional features, products, or services that can be included with a primary
purchase to enhance its functionality, convenience, or value.
KEY (Key Replacement)

Key Replacement provides coverage for the replacement of lost, stolen, or damaged keys
and key fobs.

OTH (Other Aftermarket Product)

Other Aftermarket Products (OTH) refer to goods and accessories that are added to a
vehicle after it has been purchased from the original manufacturer. These products can
include a wide range of items such as custom wheels, performance parts, audio systems,
navigation devices, and cosmetic enhancements.
ETCH (Etch)
ETCH (Etch) refers to the process of permanently engraving a vehicle's identification
number (VIN) or other identifying marks onto its windows or other parts. This technique
is primarily used as a theft deterrent, as it makes the vehicle less attractive to thieves who
would need to replace the etched parts to resell the stolen vehicle
PDR (Paint less Dent Repair)
Paint less Dent Repair (PDR) is a technique used to remove dents and dings from the
body of a vehicle without the need for traditional bodywork or repainting.
LTW (Limited Warranty)
Limited Warranty (LTW) is a type of warranty provided by manufacturers or sellers that
covers specific defects or malfunctions of a product within a defined period after
purchase.
RHT (Tire & Wheel)
RHT (Tire & Wheel) refers to a type of protection plan or insurance typically offered for
vehicles, covering repair or replacement costs associated with damage to tires and
wheels.
THP (Theft Protection)
THP (Theft Protection) refers to a range of measures and products aimed at deterring
vehicle theft and aiding in the recovery of stolen vehicles. These may include anti-theft
devices such as alarms, immobilizers, GPS tracking systems, and VIN etching.
