Invitation to deliver a keynote session at Techfest, IIT Bombay

Respected Shri. Uday Lalit,


Greetings from Techfest, IIT Bombay!

On behalf of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, it is our honour to extend to you an
invitation to deliver a keynote address at our Techfest 2024-25, which is scheduled to be held
from 17th to 19th, December 2024. Your presence and insights would greatly enhance the event
and inspire our audience. I would be happy to provide a brief overview of Techfest's significance.

Techfest is the annual Science and Technology Festival of IIT Bombay. With the underlying
spirit to promote scientific thinking, technology, and innovation, Techfest has grown over its
journey of 27 years to become Asia’s Largest Science and Technology festival with a footfall
of over 180,000. Techfest has striven hard to welcome eminent speakers who will inspire the
young science and technology enthusiasts of our country.

Over the past 27 years, Techfest’s Lecture Series has hosted prominent figures from over 15
countries, including His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Bill Nelson (NASA Administrator), the
late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Shri S. Somanath (ISRO Chairman), Tarja Halonen (former
President of Finland), the late Manohar Parrikar, Prof. Robert Aumann (Nobel Laureate,
2005), and Vint Cerf, one of the fathers of the Internet.

Your leadership in the Indian judiciary and your dedication to implementing legal reforms have
significantly contributed to improving the efficiency and transparency of the judicial system. Your
support for the use of technology, such as digital case filing and virtual courts, has helped
modernise legal processes and enhance access to justice. We believe your insights on 'The
Role of Digital Tools in Transforming India’s Judiciary: Virtual Courts and E-Filing
Systems' would offer our students and attendees a valuable perspective on how technology is
reshaping the legal landscape.

We are pleased to announce some of the speakers confirmed for this year’s lecture series,
including Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Chairperson of DRDO; Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani, Founder of
Thyrocare Technologies; Dr. Michael J. Ryan, Executive Director at World Health Organization.
