MICRO PROJECT
College management system

1. Introduction to Micro Project:

A college management system is an ERP solution that enables the institutes to conduct online
admissions, generate reports, create ID cards, enable online communication, manage curriculum,
time tables and conduct online evaluations, track student progress, conduct data analysis, teach
remotely, and handle enquiries and leads for admissions in the college.

2. Aim of the Micro Project:

• To develop a college management System.

• To develop such a system which can make clerk work easier.

College Management System

PART B
MICRO PROJECT
College management system

1. Rationale:

Software Engineering is the process of designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software. It
is a systematic and disciplined approach to software development that aims to create high-quality,
reliable, and maintainable software. Software engineering includes a variety of techniques, tools,
and methodologies, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and maintenance.

The project college management is made to use that management working in dird. This Project is
helpful to Registration of New records into the college. This Project Contain mainly following
sections: -

Section 1: - Add student.

Section 2: - Show student.

Section 3: -Add course.

Section 4: -show course.

2. Aim of Micro Project:

• To develop a college management System.

• To develop such a system which can make clerk work easier.

3.Course Outcomes Achieved:

1.Select suitable process model for software development.

2.To prepare use case and draw use case diagram using software modelling tool.
3.To prepare Activity diagram for represent flow.
4.To prepare use case diagram using software modelling to

4
College Management System

4.Literature Review:

The software is developed using different methods and huge planning. To build the software we use
the process model.
The Process Model used in our projects "College Management System" is waterfall model.

The Waterfall Model:

The waterfall model is a sequential design process, used in software development processes, in which
progress is seen as flowing steadily downwards (like a waterfall) through the phases of Conception,
Initiation, Analysis, Design, Construction, Testing, Production/Implementation and Maintenance.

The waterfall development model originates in the manufacturing and construction industries: highly
structured physical environments in which after-the-fact changes are prohibitively costly, if not
impossible. Since no formal software development methodologies existed at the time, this hardware-
oriented model was simply adapted for software development.

Reason the waterfall model in the software development cycle:

Since we have well known, clean and fixed requirements therefore it best suits for our software
development.

• Our product definitions is stable.

• Technology is clearly understood.
• The project is short.

Advantages of the waterfall model:

• This model is simple and easy to understand and use.

• In, this model phases are processed and completed one at a time and phases do not overlap.
• Waterfall model works well for smaller projects where sequence are very well understood.

Disadvantages of the waterfall model:

Once an application is in the testing stage, it is very difficult to go back and change something that
was not well throughout in the concept stage.

• High amount of the risk and uncertainty.

• Poor model for long and ongoing projects.

5.Actual Methodology Followed:

• Introduced syllabus and microproject is given by subject teacher.

• Searched for microproject topic.
• Finalized of microproject topic by the subject teacher.
• Collected information about microproject topic.
• Analyzed the collected information as given format.
• Prepared part A
• Formatted document of part A
• Worked on task related to project that is developed application of student academic details.
• Prepared part B
• Made corrections as guidelines given by teacher.
• Presentation given on microproject.
• Made final report and document printing.
• Submitted the microproject.
