Title: Behind the Filter
Scene 1: (The scene opens with a split-screen showing a vibrant, confident girl on one side posting on social media, while on the other side, we see a stressed, anxious version of the same girl in her real environment.) [Narrator’s voice-over] “Meet Alexa. Online, she’s admired, adored, and seemingly untouchable. But behind the screen, her life is far from perfect.” Scene 2: (Alexa sits in her bedroom, looking into her phone’s camera, filming a glamorous, upbeat video for her social media. She is dressed elegantly, and her makeup is flawless.) Alexa (Online Persona) (cheerfully) “Hey loves! Today, I’m sharing my secret tips on how to ace life with confidence. Remember, it’s all about owning your power and staying ahead of the game!” (She smiles brightly, ends the video, and begins typing a caption) Alexa (Narrating while typing) "When you're the queen, people listen. You've just got to look like you've got it all." Scene 3: (Cut to Alexa slumping down in her chair, exhausted. Her expression changes dramatically as she tosses her phone aside. The room is messy, with books scattered around, and her appearance now looks tired.) Alexa (To herself) (sighing) “Who am I kidding? I can’t even get through a day at school.” (She pulls out a crumpled test paper from her bag—it's marked with a failing grade. She stares at it blankly, tears welling up in her eyes.) Scene 4: (At the dinner table, Alexa’s family argues in the background while she stares at her phone. She tries to zone them out, scrolling through Instagram. Her inbox is filled with messages from people admiring her posts.) Mother (sternly) “Alexa, are you even listening? We need to talk about your grades. You can't keep ignoring your responsibilities!” Father (frustrated) “You spend all day on that phone, pretending to be someone you're not.” Alexa (quietly) “I’ll fix it. I just need some time.” (Her parents continue arguing in the background as she shuts herself off emotionally, disappearing back into the world of her phone.) Scene 5: (The next day at school, Alexa walks down the hallway, trying to avoid eye contact. She overhears whispers as students start to snicker, pointing at their phones. Her worst fear is coming true.) Student 1 (mockingly) “Isn't she that 'rich girl' from Instagram? Looks like she's got a whole different life here.” Student 2 (laughing) “Yeah, I heard she faked everything. Look at her—she's not even close to who she pretends to be online!” (Alexa freezes in the hallway as her phone buzzes incessantly. She opens it and sees that someone has exposed her private struggles—her grades, fights at home, and messages revealing her anxiety. It’s all online now.) Scene 6: (Alexa runs to the bathroom, locking herself inside. She slides down the wall, tears streaming down her face. Her phone drops beside her, still buzzing with notifications.) Alexa (Sobbing) “Why did I even start all of this? I... I just wanted to be someone else. Someone they would like... Someone strong, perfect.” (Her breathing is erratic, and she clutches her chest, overwhelmed.) Scene 7: (A close friend, Sarah, knocks gently on the bathroom door.) Sarah “Alexa? Are you in there? I saw what happened... I know you’ve been going through stuff. Please, let’s talk.” (Alexa hesitates, wiping her tears, and slowly opens the door. Sarah enters, kneeling beside her.) Sarah (softly) “You don’t have to pretend anymore. It’s okay to not be perfect. I’m here for you, the real you.” Alexa (brokenly) “But everyone thinks I’m a fraud now... I don’t know who I am anymore.” Sarah “That doesn’t matter. What matters is that you stop hiding from yourself. You don’t need to fake being someone you’re not.” (They sit in silence for a moment. Alexa breathes deeply, finally feeling some weight lift off her shoulders.) Scene 8: (The next scene shows Alexa sitting at her desk, typing a post. Her hands tremble, but she’s determined. She pauses, then hits “post.” The camera zooms in on the screen where her message appears.) Alexa’s Social Media Post (Voice-over) “Hey, guys. It’s time I was real with you. The girl you’ve seen on this account isn’t who I really am. I’ve been struggling—at school, with family, with myself. I created this ‘perfect’ version of me to escape, but that’s not what I need anymore. I’m ready to be honest, and I hope you’ll understand.” (She closes her laptop, exhaling. The notifications start rolling in again, but this time, Alexa looks calm. She leans back, no longer hiding.) Scene 9: (In the final scene, Alexa walks into school again, head held higher this time. A few students give her a nod, and some even smile. She’s still nervous, but there’s a subtle confidence in her step. She’s finally starting to own who she truly is.) [Narrator’s voice-over] “The journey to self-acceptance isn’t easy, but it’s the most important one we’ll ever take. Behind every screen, there’s a story, and sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is tell the truth.”
