QUESTION AND ANSWER

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF

I am April Ria A. Jaime graduated from STI College Cotabato with a Bachelor of Science in
Tourism Management. Before I started at STI with a major in Tourism Management, I’m thinking
that I would like to pursue a career in Accountancy Degree. But then, two things happened
before I entered college. I realized that I am more interested in serving people thru air rather
than over the counter and giving medicines. Everytime we go to the airport, I am always
amazed by the flight attendants. That is why I am here today because I believe that my goal to
be a flight attendant will benefit your organization because of the knowledge, skills and
determination that I have.

Can you tell me a little about your strengths and weaknesses?


I think my greatest asset is probably my ability to work with others. I'm most fulfilled when I
approach a stranger and open up a conversation. I'm quick on getting around and have good
stress management. Giving authority is one of the things I find challenging. I find it challenging
to assign tasks to others, whether it is for a group assignment at school. I have trained myself to
list the tasks I must complete myself and those that may be assigned because I am aware that
this is an issue. Even though it's still difficult for me, I've discovered that when I actively decide
to do that, I accomplish more, and the quality of my work improves.

Where do you want to be in 5 years?


I want to see myself in 5 years as a person who is achieving all her goals and dreams for herself
and her family. I also want to see myself as a person who is already satisfied with her life as an
independent person and buying everything she wants without hesitation.

Can you tell me about your leadership experience?


Honestly speaking, I have doubts about my leadership. But when I was trusted to lead our class
for an event, my doubts suddenly vanish because my classmates makes everything easy and if
we encounter conflict or problems, as a leader I’m the first person who needs to think on how
we will resolve it and my classmates help me to do every plans that I have to solve the problem.

Tell me about a time when you were asked to complete a task but didn’t have the
information you needed. What did you do?
When I was appointed as the leader of our previous culminating activity, I quickly realized how
hard it was to handle because it was a big event and I need to think of everything that we need
to do and how we will do everything from scratch. Aside from that I also have classes that I
need to attend.
When they appointed me as a leader, at first I did not know how to handle everything.
I know to myself that I can handle people, but I cannot handle the things that we need to do.
After studying everything, I was able to handle everything with the help of the people around
me.

Why should I hire you over the next person?


You mentioned that being able to communicate with a variety of people and solve problems as
well as having a strong business sense are among the most important abilities you are looking
for. My knowledge and skills will prove that I am capable enough to the position that is available.
When I was studying, I was one of the students that is being chosen when it comes to leading a
group. Aside from that, I am also a student who can think of solutions to a certain problem.
Because of this, it helps me to be comfortable to work with different groups of people and it
helps me to be confident to talk with other people. It helps me think deeper unlike before and it
teaches me how to handle and study everything before having a final decision.
