I. Motivation
Look around you? Inside your home and among your family members? What have
you observed? What do they usually do? Do some of them frequently check their
Facebook account? Do they check the news on social media?
In a digitally connected era, where do you stand? Are you among those who strive
to empower themselves as well as the community with the ways of technology? Or are
you among those who refuse to succumb to the changes brought by technology.
Technology is a double-edged sword but if you wield it correctly, it can be an ally.
How do you become technologically enabled and empowered?

The Millennial generation refers to people who were born during the last two

As their name suggests, millennials are known for being born near the very end of
the last millennium. It was during the millennials’ childhoods and teenage years that
technological advancements revolutionized the world we live in. Think of all the many

Today we do not need to go any further than our own home, to see some form of
ICT in our lives. Whether it be a computer, plasma TV, or mobile phone, we all have them
in some part of our lives. In today’s society, people as consumers of ICT, all strive for the
one dream – the dream of a connected life. ICT has invaded and transformed many
aspects of our lives to the extent that we live in an environment that is dominated by
technology which itself is consumer-driven. No matter how we perceive its presence,
there is no denying that it is an important part of our lives and that it is here to stay.
