One of the most important people in the Philippine History is Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y
Alonzo Realonda. Whenever I hear his name, first thing that will come out to my mind is, hhe is the
National Hero. My Rizal subject has an important role to my life because I have learned more significant
insights and information about Rizal's life and the importance of his works and writings to me and my
classmates. I became more aware of his sacrifices and noble deeds and ideas. It is good to know, his
travels, his exile and execution, his social, political and economic ideas, the similarities of Rizal to the
other Filipino patriots. The first thing I noticed in Dr. Jose Rizal's life was that he lived a simple one. He
did not choose to have a luxurious life like the most of is have wanted. Even before he became under
surveillance the Spaniards, he had lived his life as simple as possible. I think it was the work of his parent
that made him lived like this. I strongly believe that one's lifestyle Is influenced mostly by their parents. I
learned from the life of Rizal the importance of taking part of the parents to their children's morals.
The Rizal law has come a long way. After Republic Act No. 1425 aimed at including a study of
the life and works of Jose Rizal in the curricula of public and private schools was approved by President
Ramon Magsaysay on June 12, 1956, teaching Rizal has been mandatory in our school system. Fifty-fife
years have passed. Now we live in a world dominated by cyber technology and scientific breakthroughs,
revolution, terrorism, environmental crisis and natural catastrophes, a world of Lady gaga and Justin
Yes, the teachings of Rizal's Life and Works might awaken literary sensitivities and be risky in a
variety of ways, but we must grasp and learn what he has done for our country, as well as feel what it was
like to be in his shoes throughout his lifetime. Also, studying Rizal life's and works is so important
because Rizal believed THAT THE YOUTH IS THE HOPE OF OUR NATION. Our national hero
thought that we the youth or the new generation, should understand our role assisting our nation achieving
the social change for which we had battled since then. God has given us, the gift of life and talents. We
should always strive to live up to Rizal's principles, as he is the ideal of an educated Filipino whose
contributions had a significant impact on our society. We should apply of what Rizal imagined for us. The
youth who will make a difference in the future. Most of Rizal work his writings both in essays and
editorials focused on individual rights and freedom to Filipino people. Jose Rizal inspire us to stand up
for our country through his writings. He felt that everyone should have the right to be free. Jose Rizal was
the driving force behind the struggle to free our nation from the Spanish rule. Rizal's excellent traits of
knowledge, bravery, and resolve enabled him to risk everything in order to defend our homeland.
NATIONALISM this is a group of people who profess to have common values, culture, and beliefs or
objectives. People get proud of their group as they become aware of their differences from the other
group. They develop a desire to serve their country. If they just knew their country, this would be simple.
As a result, Rizal would encourage study on the Philippines. Rizal confirmed this point by stating that
modern means of communication and transportation brought the residents of the country together.
PATRIOTISM will always be associated with fanaticism, and anyone who takes pride in national ideas
will very certainly be regarded as a fatal illness, a threat to the social order. Patriotism can only be a crime
among dictatorial peoples, because it is disguised as patriotism But, no matter how perfect humanity
becomes, patriotism may always be a virtue among oppressed nations, because it is love of justice, liberty,
and personal integrity. Under his writings, Rizal explains that patriotism has always existed and would
continue to exist in all conditions. VOLUNTERISM Among Filipinos, it is thought to be fairly strong.
Filipinos' spirit of volunteerism in studying Rizal's works is sufficient to grant acceptance to his works.
Literary criticisms play a pivotal role in the study of Rizal's Life and Works. They offer a deeper
understanding of his writings by unraveling layers of meaning, symbolism, and context. Rizal's works are
not just historical documents but literary masterpieces that require caretul analysis. Literary criticisms
enable scholars and students to appreciate the intricate artistry of Rizal's prose and poetry. They shed light
on the allegorical elements, metaphors, and allusions used by Rizal to convey his messages. For instance.
In "No Me Tangere. the character of Crisostomo Ibarra represents the aspirations of the Filipino people,
while Padre Damaso symbolizes the oppressive Spanish friars. Literary criticism hens readers grasn these
symbolic representations and their signiticance in the narrative. Furthermore, literary criticisms allow for
a comparative analysis of Rizal's works with other literary movements and tracutions. For example. his
use of realism and romanticism can be explored in the context of 1St-century Buropean Iterature.
Understanding these miterary techniques enhances the appreciation of Rizal's contributions to world
literature.
I will choose the popular novel by Jos Rizal, the Noli Me Tangere is also (publish in berlin
Germany in 1887) depicts the different aspects of the accession to independence and the relationship of
this novel is the meaning of the nationalism of the nation because without it a nation itself cannot be
called a country because of the lack of nationalism and nationalism implies the urge to achieve political
freedom and independence, especially by a country following foreign jurisdiction and what is its
connection to nation- building and the first nation-building thing is the creation or improvement of a
nation, notably one that has recently become independent and the concept of nation-building cannot be
apprehended without the cooperation of some key concepts such as nation, social individuality, the
nation-state, and nationalism. The term "nation" has been interpreted by many philosophers, academics,
and professionals. Noli Me Tangere and also El Filibusterismo have influenced our sense of nationalism
by awakening our eyes to the truth and having an identity that created its nation as a complex and
encompassing its culture and tradition without the influence of the colonizers and revealed its purpose by
accelerating the national unity by ourselves, it is true, we are nothing, but to take the problem of the
people, to join the people, not to pay attention to their cries, to give the example to the others, to spread
the idea of what we used to call the homeland it is clear that we need to be united and we need a reason of
nationalism that identifies us as Filipinos, and not as people who are under the domination of Spain and
the final way to build the nation is Rizal's greatest contribution to planning the national unity of the
Filipino nation was his tireless efforts to urge his compatriots to work together for national unity, a
prerequisite for national survival. Any man who has withdrawn to confront injustice is not for the well-
being of society. And he certainly explains why nation-building needs nationalism because it has created a
united nation with an identity, they can call themselves. Much of his work has an impact on the nation-
building of our country as it creates its own identity and also affects other countries, and his work
encourages us to be more nationalistic by analyzing his works and the idea of nationalism that we can
relate to and utilize. today and as youthful people today we can experience or expand the idea, word of
Rizal's work and life that shows his dedication to the country and as a citizen of the Philippines, we need
to know what life and writings of Rizal are that affect our national identity and why this will not be
expected due to his work which has helped to shape our character and created a spark why we must love
our country more because we have to be mindful of our individuality and our country and we have to take
care it is because we are Filipino that we should embrace it and whatever the time or generation as here
we are and work will never be neglected and should be taught forever because it is he who created our
identity and without it, the Philippines would not be a country presently and the lesson we can discover
from his travel to other countries and the thought of nationalism and numerous other works.
