One holiday, Vandra visited his aunt in a village. It was his first experience of traveling by train, but he
enjoyed it. He arrived at the railway station at 3 p.m. His uncle’s house was not far from the railways station,
so he decided to go there by horse cart.
Vandra stopped a horse cart. To his surprise, the rider was a woman. She was dark skinned and looked
strong. Along the journey, they had a chit-chat. The rider told him about her life. She is a wife with three
children. She was simple, but had a great dream. She wanted her children to be successful. As a mother, she
was willing to work hard for her children’s education. She never gave up. She believed that her hard work

Agus saw it, but the man did not. Agus ran and picked up the thing. It was a wallet.
"Sir!, You dropped your wallet, "Agus repeated. "Here it is. It fell from your pocket when you were
walking." Agus gave him the wallet.
"Oh, thank you very much, " the man said.
"It's all right, "Agus answered. The man opened the wallet and took out some money. "Here, this is
for you," he said. Agus refused saying "I don't want the money, I just wanted to help you." The man
smiled and said, "All right, I am not going to give you any money, but please, let me take you home."
"All right, " Agus said and got into the car. In the car they talked about Agus’s school. Agus was
telling him about his friends when they arrived.
"This is my house, "Agus said. "Won't you come in ? " The man went with Agus into the house. He met
Agus's parents and told them what happened.

There lived a poor boy named Howard Kelly who was selling goods from door to door to pay for his
school. One day, on his way, he suddenly felt hungry. Then, he asked for a meal at the next house that he
visited because he had only a little money left. When a lovely young woman opened the door, he became too
shy to ask for the meal. He decided to ask for a drink of water instead but the woman brought him a large
glass of milk. He thanked this woman and asked for how much that he owed her. But the woman said that he
didn't owe her anything because her mother has taught to never accept payment for kindness.
A few years later, the young woman became critically ill. When the local doctors gave up, they sent her
to the big city to find the best treatment. Then, Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he
heard the name of the town she came from, he immediately went to her room and recognized her at once. He
was so eager to do his best to save her life.
After a long treatment, the young woman was cured. Dr. Kelly paid the bill treatment and wrote
something on the edge of the bill. When the bill was sent to the young woman's room, she was afraid to open
it because she thought it would be very expensive. Finally, she opened it and something caught her attention
on the side as she read these words, "Paid in full with one glass of milk" (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly. She
was then crying in happiness, then she prayed, "Thank You, God. For Your love has spread around through
human hearts and hands."

STOVE TOP
In a medium saucepan, add 435 ml (1½ cups) of water and 4.5 g (1 teaspoon) of butter. Bring to the boil
then add contents of packet. Stir continuously whilst returning to boil then simmer for 7 minutes, stirring

Once upon a time, there was a small village in Baghdad. Its population was very small. In this village,
everybody knew each other and knew every little or big problem that went on in the village. In this small
village, there was a bakery that was popular for its delicious food.
One day, a poor old woman was walking in the street passing the bakery and she stopped to smell the scent
of the bread which was spreading out of the bakery.

Suddenly, the baker caught the old man and shouted at him demanding the prince of bread's scent. He almost
dragged him to the police.

A very famous wise man named Juhha heard the baker shouting. So he went to him and asked about the
problem. Juhha stood calmly listening to the baker and he thought for a solution.

after a few minutes, Juhha's eyes glinted and an amused smile was on his face. He asked the baker, "How
much money do you want?". The baker and the poor man were astonished, but the baker answered "3
dinnars". Juhha took the money out of his wallet and put it in his pocket and shook the money, "Did you hear
the sound of the money?" Juhha asked. "Yes, I did", the baker replied, and with a big smile Juhha said "Well
then, this is the price of your bread's scent!"

Read the following text and answer the questions no 1 – 5

A long time ago, a man called Mr. Lebai lived on a river bank in a village in West Sumatra, One Day,
he received two party invitations-one from a villager upstream and another one downstream the two parties
locations were far from each other. However, the parties were to take place exactly at the same time.
Now wanting to miss both parties, he started rowing his boat downstream for he knew that food there
was very delicious. in the middle of his journey, he stopped. Mr. Lebai remembered that the host of upstream
usually gave more food to the guests, so he turned his boat back and started to row upstream.

After rowing for several minutes, he stopped again. he remembered that the downstream host was a
generous man. Mr. Lebai thought that if he got there early, he would get a delicious buffalo head. he turned
back to go to the downstream village.

However, when he got there, the party in the downstream village was over. he Saw people walking
home, bringing bags of food. Mr. Lebai was disappointed, he quickly turned his boat again heading for the
upstream Village. he rowed as fast as he could, however, in the middle of the Journey, he saw people walking
home bringing their bags of food, too. It meant the party in the upstream was over, also.

In The End, Mr. Lebai went home empty-handed, disappointed, and exhausted. he was so
unfortunate, thereafter, he was nicknamed "Pak Lebal Malang" or "Poor Mr. Lebai"
