Remember
The importance of Anthropology to the study of culture and society is that it
provides a basis for understanding both our own and others. In Sociology, it enables us
to gain a better understanding of the social forces that shape your own life.
The different Anthropological perspectives on culture and society, the Evolutionist-
Intellectual Perspective, the French Sociology School, and the British Functionalist School
show the various factors in society and culture that gives definition, thus, affect the
people in the locality. On the other hand, the three types of Sociological perspectives,
Symbolic Interactionism, Functionalism, and Conflict Theory, explain how people interact
in their environment and how such interaction impacts culture and society.
