Statement of the Problem

The main goal of this research is to examine how parental expectations influence the academic
performance of senior high school students at New Christian Academy.

This study specifically seeks to answer the following research questions:

1. How may the extent of parental expectations be described in terms of the following:

1.1 Academic goals;

1.3 Decision-Making Involvement;
1.4 Communication; and
1.5 Discipline and study habit

2. How do these expectations correlate with students’ academic performance?

3. Are there significant influences on academic performance based on different levels of
