Different types of apps: 1) Standard Apps: These are pre-built applications provided

examples: Sales, Service, Marketing,

2) Custom Apps: These are applications that you can
create from scratch or customize using Salesforce’s tools. Custom apps allow you to:
— define your own objects, workflows, and business processes.

— Tailor the app’s interface


and features to suit specific business needs.
Key Components: Custom objects, fields, and page payouts,
Custom workflows and automation rules — tailored reports and dashboards

3) Managed Apps( from AppExchange) — These are third-


party apps available on Salesforce’s AppExchange marketplace. They are often pre-
built solutions that can be integrated into your Salesforce instance for additional
functionalities. There are two main types: Managed Packages(Created and
maintained by developers or companies. They come with their own update
mechanisms and often include support from the app provider) and Unmanaged
Packages (Meant for one-time installations and customisation by the user. There is
no support or updates provided by the app developer)
4) Lighting Apps —Built using Salesforce’s Lighting
framework, these apps offer a modern, customisable UI experience.
5) Console Apps — are tailored for high-productivity
environments such as call centres, where users need to handle multiple records and
tasks simultaneously

Setup —> Quick Find box on the left —> Apps —> App Manager —> New Lighting
