1.1 Expand and simplify the following expressions fully.

6.1 Lebo opens savings account with initial deposit of 𝑅20 000 which will be kept in the
account for 5 years on a simple interest rate at 11% p.a.

6.1.1 How much will Lebo have in the savings account at the end of 5 years
period.

6.1.2 Calculate the interest earned, as a percentage.

6.2 Mrs. Naidoo buys furniture for her new house at a cost of 𝑅58 000. She pays
20% deposit and the balance through a hire purchase loan with interest rate
of 14% p.a. over a period 4 years. Calculate the total amount of money that
she had to pay on the loan including the interest over four years.

6.3 A loaf of white bread costs €1,21 in Spain, and $1,35 in USA.

The current exchange rates are as follows: $1=R17,99 and €1 = 𝑅19,55. (3)

7.1 A bag contains 3 green balls and 5 red balls. The balls are
placed in a bag and one is chosen at random. Determine the
