Installation & Maintenance Instruction

Ricoh IM C2000 drum unit rebuild instructions.


(See video as well)

Tools and materials needed to rebuild the drum unit:


 PH#2 screwdriver
 Small flat bit screwdriver
 Toner vacuum cleaner
 Cotton swabs
 Conductive grease
 Disposable gloves
 CET part number CET501012

Step # Rebuilding Steps


1. Start with the Ricoh OEM D0BK-2205 Drum Unit for
Ricoh IM C2000, C2000A, C2500, C2500A (also used in Lanier and Savin)
2. Remove the screw from the rear PCDU end cover using a PH#2 screwdriver, then pull off
the rear PCDU end cover
3. Remove the three screws from the rear OPC drum support hub using a PH#2 screwdriver
4. Carefully pry the rear OPC drum support hub from the drum unit with a small flat bit
screwdriver and then pull it off the drum unit
5. Remove the two screws from the front OPC drum support hub using a PH#2 screwdriver
6. Carefully pry the front OPC drum support hub from the drum unit with a small flat bit
screwdriver and then pull it off the drum unit.
7. Disconnect the connector, then unwind the toner sensor cable from the drum unit
section
8. Separate the PCU (drum unit) section from the developer unit section
9. Remove the OPC drum from the drum unit section
10. Remove the two screws on the PCR assembly in the drum unit section using a PH#2
screwdriver
11. Remove the PCR assembly from the drum unit section and set aside
12. Remove the two screws on the drum cleaning blade using a PH#2 screwdriver
13. Remove the cleaning blade by carefully prying it out with a small flat bit screwdriver and
lifting it off the drum unit section
14. Remove waste toner in the drum unit section with a toner vacuum.
Do not use a conventional vacuum cleaner.
15. Unpack the new CET501012 drum unit rebuild kit
16. Kit contents:
- OPC Drum
- Drum cleaning blade
- Primary Charge Roller (PCR)
- PCR cleaning roller
17. Take out the new CET drum cleaning blade
18. Reinstall the drum cleaning blade and secure it with two screws using a PH#2 screwdriver

19. Unsnap the PCR saddles from the housing on the PCR assembly, carefully prying them
from the bottom using a small flat bit screwdriver
20. Remove the PCR and the PCR cleaning roller, then remove the saddles
21. Clean the PCR contact with a cotton swab, then apply a small amount of conductive
grease on it

22. Clean the black conductive saddle with a cotton swab, then apply a small amount of
conductive grease into it.

23. Take out the new CET PCR and PCR cleaning roller and remove the protective sleeve from
the PCR.
Wear clean disposable gloves or do not touch the PCR working surface with bare hands
24. Reinstall the saddles and the gear onto the PCR and the PCR cleaning roller
25. Reinstall the PCR and the PCR cleaning roller into the PCR assembly holder
26. Make sure the PCR is moveable and spring loaded
27. Reinstall the PCR assembly into the drum unit and secure it with 2 screws using a PH#2
screwdriver
28. Take out the new CET OPC drum
29. Remove the protective wrap, then place the OPC drum into the drum unit
30. Align the notches on the drum unit with the corresponding tabs on the developer unit
31. Carefully connect the drum unit and the developer unit sections together
32. Reinstall the front OPC drum support hub and secure it with two screws using a PH#2
screwdriver
33. Arrange the toner sensor cable in the drum unit section plastic housing, then connect the
connector
34. Reinstall the rear OPC drum support hub and secure it with three screws using a PH#2
screwdriver
35. Reinstall the rear PCDU cover and secure it with one screw using a PH#2 screwdriver
36. For correct operation of the rebuilt drum unit, reset the corresponding PM counters by
SP3-701 or by selecting [PM Counter / New Unit Set] from the menu
