QUESTION 1 – MEDIEVAL THEATRE – PLAY TEXT – EVERYMAN

‘’Drawn in sin, they know me not for their


God, in worldly riches is all their mind, they
fear not my right wiseness, the sharp rod.’’

The play is an allegorical of the life of Everyman, who represents all


mankind.

You are required to write an essay of 1 ½ page. In your essay you must
discuss the following aspects:

 How is Everyman an allegory play?


 In the play, there are allegorical characters, List at least 5 characters
and explain what each character represents.
 What does the play teach its audience?
 The themes found in the play.
 What moral lesson does this play offer to modern man?
