how to make them

*It is better at first to sew a draft using cheap fabric

*Before sewing the details together on the sewing machine, pin them or sew them
together by hands

If you want to make the corset reversible then instead of lining use the fabric
of another colour.

Step 1
Choose the templates that are appropriate with your size, highlight the
corresponding lines with a marker, copy them onto tracing paper (or usual paper),
seams are already included. Cut the templates out.

For example, my size is S/M, so, that is what I am highlighting and then cutting
out (Picture 1)

Step 2
Cut out the details (seams are already included): fold fabric in half, put the details
on it. Repeat for lining (or fabric 2) and interfacing. (Picture 2)

Picture 2

Attach interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric using iron (if you make the corset
reversible attach to any of 2 fabrics) (Picture 3)

Step 3
3
Sew all of the 10 vertical details together by putting them face to face (1 cm/ inch
8
seam allowance), press the seams open. (Picture 4, Picture 5)

Step 4
2
Fold detail for loop in half right sides together and sew (0.7 cm/ “seam
8
allowance). Turn it out using a stick, needle or small safety pin. Repeat for the
other 7 details. (Picture 6)

Pin the loops to the right side of the Back part: 2, 7 cm/ 1” between the loops, 1, 5
2
cm/ 5/8” between the ends of each loop, make a sewing line (0.7 cm/ “seam
8
allowance). (Picture 7, Picture 8)

Step 5
Put both parts of the corset right sides together and sew their lateral and upper
3 3
sides (1 cm/ “seam allowance) leaving 1 cm/ “at each corner of Front 2 details.

Turn the corset out.

Step 6
* If you make the corset reversible you can use threads of 2 colours: one
colour for bobbin and another colour for the upper thread accordingly.
3
Fold lower side inside for 1 cm/ “ .
8

Sew with basting stitch aligning the seams of both layers: all of the 9 vertical
seams, under cups, upper side and lower side (which is folded inside). (Picture 10)

Then using sewing machine (Picture 11):

2
- sew under cups creating channels for underbust wires 0.7 cm/ inch wide;
8

- sew parallel lines from right and left sides of each of 9 seams to create channels
2
for boning, the width of each channel should be 0.7 cm/ inch;
8

- and sewing lines close to the right and left sides of the corset.

Insert underbust wires through the space that was left in Step 5. Then boning in
each of 9 channels. (Picture 12)

Step 7
Sew close to the upper and lower edges to close the openings. (Picture 13)

Your corset is done (Picture 14); you can use any wire or ribbons. Or you can
make a strap the same way like the loops were made.
