COURSE CONTENTS AND DELIVERY PLAN
INTRODUCTION

By implementing this comprehensive driver training program, NGML can empower its
drivers with essential skills, fostering a culture of safety responsibility, and professionalism
on the roads. This initiative aligns with NGML’s commitment to road safety and community
well being, ensuring a positive impact on both drivers and the broader society.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Throughout the training, our expert facilitators will guide participants through a
comprehensive journey that focuses on achieving the following learning objectives:

1. Enhanced road safety awareness and responsible driving behavior among


participants.
2. Reduction in accidents and incidents, especially during festive seasons leading to
decreased vehicle damage and associated costs.
3. Improved emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, contributing to a positive
driving environment and community relations.
4. Increased productivity and efficiency through optimized time management
strategies, benefiting both the drivers and NGML.

Broad areas to be covered in a 5-daystrainingwould includes but are not limited to the
following thematic areas:

Day 1: Introduction to Defensive Driving, Emotional Intelligence and Self Leadership


 Welcome and Introduction
 Understanding Emotional Intelligence Triggers and managing emotions on the road
 Self Leadership skills; taking responsibility for one’s own driving behavior and decisions
 Overview of road safety regulations, government policies and their impact

Day 2: Vehicle Inspection, Time Management and Productivity


 Importance of regular vehicle maintenance for efficient use of time and resources
 Pre-trip inspection checklist: emphasizing the role of time management in conducting
effective inspections.
 Time Management techniques for drivers; planning routes, optimizing travel time and
punctuality.
 Personal Productivity strategies ; setting goals , prioritizing tasks and optimizing driving
routes

Day 3: Hazard Recognition, Decision-making and Emotional Intelligence


 Identifying potential road hazards:
 Defensive driving strategies; empathetic driving and understanding other driver’s
emotions
 Decision making skills: making quick safe decisions
 Interactive driving scenarios
 Evasive maneuvers and emergency braking

Day 4: Self Leadership and Personal Productivity


 Strategies for self leadership; setting a positive example, promoting courteous driving
and being a responsible member of the community
 Conflict resolution skills: Managing conflicts with other drivers and pedestrians using
emotional intelligence
 Stress Management for Drivers: Coping with traffic, dealing with difficult situations, and
maintaining composure

Day 5: Review, Evaluation and certification


Review of key defensive driving concepts, emotional intelligence, self leadership, time
management and personal productivity covered during the training
Practical Evaluation of all concepts taught
Certification ceremony
Closing remarks, feedback collection and suggestions for continuous improvement

COURSE FEE
The Course fee is Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N850,000) per participant
(Excluding VAT) minimum of 30 participants. This includes payment for the following:
1. Facilitation
2. Tea Break and Lunch for participants for the 5 days
3. Course Materials (pen, notebook)
4. Certificates
5. Additional learning resources and props for activities

METHODOLOGY
 Training design: The training program will be a mix of lectures, discussions, case
studies, and interactive exercises that will engage participants and ensure that they
understand the concepts and skills being taught.

 Training delivery: The training program will be delivered over 5 consecutive days,
with each day focusing on a specific topic as outlined in the training program
breakdown. The training will be delivered by experienced trainers who have
expertise in the downstream retail sector and have a track record of delivering
effective and engaging training programs.

 Evaluation and feedback: Throughout the training program, we will conduct


regular evaluations and solicit feedback from participants to ensure that the training
is meeting their needs and expectations. We will also conduct a post-training
evaluation to measure the effectiveness of the training and identify areas for
improvement.

 Follow-up support: After the training program, we will provide follow-up support
to ensure that the concepts and skills learned during the training are being
implemented effectively. This may include additional training sessions, coaching and
mentoring, or access to online resources and tools.
