Question
How to remotely check if Micro 800 controller is in Run, Program or Fault state?

Environment
2080-LC20 Micro 820
2080-LC30 Micro 830

Answer
To check controller status use CIP Generic message. Configure message for following parameters:

Service = 0x0E // GetAttributeSingle

Class = 0x01 // Identity Object
Instance = 0x01 // Instance 1
Attribute = 0x08 // State attribute

The response value (data type is USINT, 1 byte) gives the Controller state as follows:

2 - Program mode
3 - Run mode
4 - Major fault
