Peerless Dad

Chapter 222
—
What an absolute shock for Noh Gajang, someone who looks exactly like his late wife is
standing before his very eyes.
However, her primary interest is in her niece and not her brother-in-law. Noh had always
assumed that Mira was an orphan like him and never once heard about the earth clan or her
sister. Another fact unbeknownst to him is how Yuk Ye Ra, the granny from the earth clan, has
been slyly coercing his daughter to learn martial arts.
Before Mira and Noh met, the wood clan had attacked the earth clan. Mira met her future
husband while acting as the decoy. It is thanks to her efforts that her clan and family escaped
the ordeal alive. However, she never returned to her sister because she married him. For Seo
Jinra, this was incredibly infuriating. Considering she was a lot stronger than the young Noh,
she could have ended his life anytime.
*Comparison of Jinra to Liam Neeson’s scene where he threatens to find and kill whoever is
calling him*
Fortunately, she relented when the couple were expecting children and cut ties with her sister.
This only applying to her sister, she came for her nieces and nephews. More niece though, she
was reaching out to SeoHyeon, and not her brothers because she wanted her to inherit the
Dahwasu martial art. The Earth clan’s blessings only able to be inherited by the women of the
clan, there was nothing for her to pass onto the twin brothers.
Before Jinra can convince Noh and take his daughter away, Grandpa Han comes to the rescue.
Unlike most people, she is able to recognize the second Administrator for who he truly is and
her belligerent attitude changes to one of deference.
It took a quick second, but she realizes that Grandpa Han is their clan’s savior and can’t risk
disrespecting the old man.
At any rate, Jinra claims that Mira was able to suppress the Earth clan’s inherited curse by
practicing Dahwasu. She isn’t being entirely honest though. Like with all the other elemental
clans, the practice of their martial arts has the risk of a Demon God evolution just like the one
Noh witnessed with the Solid Metal Demon God. This is a risk that Jinra is willing to take
responsibility for, but Noh becomes extremely angry by her audacity. It is HIS daughter she is
risking and it is not her place to meddle in their family.
*Gajang with the OBJECTION from Phoenix Wright games. Include the audio track of
OBJECTION.*
While the Noh family drama is ongoing, we return to the Heavenly Dragon Pavilion. Tang Munbi
leaves authority to his nephew while he sets off on a solo journey. It has been made quite clear
that he believes his sons are too incompetent to lead, but Tang Gunoh believes that the elder
should give them another chance.
*Insert clip of Chris Tucker going “Oh Hell no!” from Rush Hour. It is what the Heavenly Dragon
is pretty much saying about leaving authority to his sons.*
The Tang siblings already have a chance to prove themselves in the upcoming war. This will be
their last opportunity to show their father they are worth more than their Tang bloodline. In
Munbi’s perspective, his sons are only in positions of power due to nepotism and not merit.
That’s enough talk about the sons. The more important matter is the Heavenly Dragon’s growing
interest in the Grass Troupe Union. Overall, the captain of the Troupe has shown merit and Tang
Munbi wishes to keep monitoring their progress.
—
Chapter 223
—
We later find Grandpa Han fishing, but suddenly a ball of water with a fish caught in it floats
towards him. This is just the third Administrator showing off before his senior. One day, the
arrogant Lee Gangjin will meet his match…at least that is what the second Administrator
believes. The true reason why these two have gathered here is because the pope of the
Enlightened Church is nearby and they are observing if something is about to go down.
Before the war breaks out, the Heavenly Dragon, Tang Munbi, checks up on Cheon Soso. The
two are childhood friends, but only Munbi has aged significantly while Soso still looks young.
Despite their friendship, both leaders have their own agendas. Mumbi intends to confront the
Administrator before he dies, but Soso does not care about the conflict between the government
and the Murim since it is so beneath her. Even though the Administrator intends to eliminate all
of the Murim, Cheon Soso intends to take full advantage of the chaos.
Back at the Noh residence, the family bid Seohyeon farewell. Thanks to her current condition
from the Earth clan’s cursed blessing, she is leaving to deal with it for a while. Baek Dong will
accompany her during this time.
Outside the castle, the Heavenly Dragon Association is marching to war with their leader at the
helm. The other major factions are not going to get involved with this affair, as confirmed with
Cheon Soso, so the only thing that poses a threat will be the Administrator’s meddling.
It is a surprise for Tang Munbi that the Grass Troupe Union put all their effort to be placed into
the vanguard. He is rather impressed with Captain Ham for this actually, since the Union leader
had a master that was quite lacking in the intelligence department. On the other hand, Captain
Ham is feeling uneasy about everything. For him, the real surprise is that the Heavenly Dragon
is fighting on the frontlines personally. Unfortunately, thanks to Seohyeon’s situation, Noh was
not present, which is not reassuring in the least.
—
Chapter 224
—
This not the same sentiment amongst the rest of the vanguard. With the Heavenly Dragon on
the frontline alongside them, their morale is at an all-time high. It was not Gajang who predicted
that joining the vanguard would be most beneficial for the Grass Troupe Union, but Seohyeon.
This confirms that their choice was the right one and at the very least alleviates Captain Ham’s
worries.
On the way to their destination, Seohyeon explains the logic behind her prediction to her father.
Since the Heavenly Dragon declared this war himself, combined with the fact he has not been
active publicly lately, Tang Munbi needed to join the frontlines personally to inspire a new
generation of leaders to follow after those that retired. Her father is quite the dolt so he doesn’t
really understand, but his daughter will take care of the brainwork for him.
Instead of leaving Seohyeon to the Earth clan, they opted to leave her with Maksoo instead. The
water demon prays that his foolish friend does not actually show up, but his hopes are dashed
when Gajang appears over the hill.
Unlike Maksoo, Noh is absolutely overjoyed to see his old friend again. Seohyeon politely greets
Maksoo as Uncle Mak, but the Water Demon corrects it as Uncle Heo. It is her father’s fault for
telling her to call him so casually, but he still respectfully accepts her onto the ship.
It sure is surprising that a fool like Noh Gajang can have a daughter as well-mannered as
Seohyeon, but that's because she is similar to her mother. Surprisingly, although earth and
water do not get along, Maksoo does not hate Seohyeon. Instinctively he disliked Seomun Mira,
but because of Noh, Seohyeon also took after her father, thus the reason he is okay with her.
The exact solution to Seohyeon’s issue is not entirely clear, but she seems to need another
element to help balance her out. Maksoo theorizes that if it is because her parents gave her
both earth and metal elements, then she needs the wood element to help separate the metal.
Perhaps this is how we see Mohk Hwa again, with Noh already forming a good relationship with
a member of the Wood clan.
Maksoo will also be training Baek Dong as well. Despite the general hostility the Water Demon
shows towards his old friend, the two truly get along well. The two become incredibly
mischievous when Gajang mentions how he taught his disciple the basics already, which means
Baek Dong learned in the same manner these two did in their youth.
In other words, Baek Dong can take a beating, and smacking him with water will still totally
count as training him. These two truly are birds of a feather. Poor Baek Dong will have some
troubling days ahead.
*Insert clip of Ralph Wiggum saying “I’m in danger” on the school bus*
Eventually, Noh bids his daughter and disciple farewell. He regrets not being able to stay by her
side during this, but Seohyeon iterates how many people are waiting and relying on him back
home so he must return. Baek Dong promises to protect Seohyeon and Maksoo swears upon
his ship, the Shim Yeok Sa, that he will keep her safe as well.

Chapter 225
—
The war has already begun back home. Entire lines of troops crash into each other like a
tsunami. Both sides are engaging with their best troops in this first battle and are hoping to gain
the ultimate advantage. Chun Il Sang descends from above to clash with the enemy
commander, Joong Cheol directly. Unlike his usual aggressive fighting style, Il Sang pins down
his opponent in a wild exchange of blows.
As hours of battle go by, the Criminal Contractors Association vanguard begins to feel uneasy.
Something is definitely amiss if the Heavenly Dragon Association initiated battle first. Of course,
they did not account for the appearance of the Heavenly Dragon appearing in the rear of their
forces. The Dark Master, Tang Munbi, is willing to spare their lives if they surrender, but the
commander of the Criminal Contractor vanguard can’t back down here or they will be executed
by their own side. In a single instant, the entire vanguard command group is annihilated by a
telekinetic barrage of stones.
This is the true reason why Il Sang fought relatively passive. Now that the Heavenly Dragon has
appeared on the battlefield in the enemy rear, Il Sang knocks Joong Cheol down and forces a
quick surrender. Sadly, while the Heavenly Dragon Association is victorious, the sober reality of
war hits quickly. There always casualties, 150 had died and 340 were injured.
In the after-battle meeting, Tang Munbi orders that the wounded, including the enemy, be
treated. Il Sang is praised for his efforts in battle today and his growing maturity is
acknowledged. Ever since taking on disciples, the vice head of the Martial Dragon Pavilion has
calmed down a lot, but he should still learn to be more patient and make friends. The current
war is simply a prelude to the next one, so Tang Munbi hopes that Il Sang will be ready when he
is needed in the future.
—
Chapter 226
—
Meanwhile, Lim Jeon Goo, the leader of the Criminal Contractors Association, is absolutely livid
with their loss in battle and blames his subordinates. However, this entire war was his idea in
the first place, so it is really just his own lack of foresight. A very suspicious looking strategist is
advising the Criminal Contractors and easily shifts the focus of blame to the Heavenly Dragon’s
appearance on the battlefield.
the strategist relents from using this idea since they need someone to keep their main camp
safe. The devious looking man seems to want this conflict to last as long as possible rather than
deal any decisive damage. So, he proposes a better idea of moving the Dark Master away from
the battlefield. Revealing he was awaiting on news for the way they would do so.
Shifting towards Lee Gangjin, we find him being thanked by some farmers. He gets off on their
gratitude, so he seems to personally support the commoners regularly. One of his spies’ reports
to him with news from the ongoing war. Han Gwak, the slimy looking strategist, informs the
Administrator that the Heavenly Dragon has joined the fray in person. Even Lee Gangjin does
not make absolutely perfect plans. He had been moving his pieces in the shadows in order to
ensure none of the ‘Five Respected Under the Heavens’ would move to resolve conflicts and
thus allow Murim to suffer greater damage. Overall, there are still too many variables and issues
around the country. The Administrator and his organization can’t intervene too openly in order to
keep the Divine Cult under Cheon Soso from interfering as well.
If the Criminal Contractors Association is utterly decimated, it is not really a big deal for the
Administrator. The spy suggests that taking down the Tang clan itself would be most beneficial,
but that would be stooping to a level of evil that Lee Gangjin will not tolerate. The Tang clan is
influential and powerful because they maintain order and ensure the people do well. That is why
there is no widespread poverty or famines within 150km of the Tang clan. The first Administrator
took down everyone in the Murim, which was a mistake as many of those clans ensured the
safety of the commoners, even if they were also the martial artists that caused damage to them.
However, letting the Criminal Contractors Association lose too quickly is not beneficial either.
The Heavenly Dragons Association tore through the enemy lines after their initial victory and
were one-sidedly beating down their enemies. Eventually, Noh Gajang arrives to join the Grass
Troupe Union in the vanguard.
The vanguard is doing great overall, but the Grass Troupe Union and the Association are still
taking losses. It the reality of war that Noh hates. Other units are taking more damage than
them, but they have not criticized the Grass Troupe. At any rate, the situation looks decent
enough. Captain Ham is summoned to a strategy meeting and leaves his friends to continue
their discussion.
Unfortunately, the smooth sailing ends here. The Heavenly Dragon will be leaving the vanguard
because the Murim Alliance started to launch a border incursion. While the Murim Alliance has
less manpower than the Criminal Contractors Association, they have many more martial arts
masters. Tang Munbi has no choice but to force them back personally.
This means the ones with authority now are the two sons, Gun Gang and Gun Jun, and both are
ultimately willing to treat this war as a game of politics. Neither Il Sang nor Gajang are willing to
entrust their lives to these fools.

Chapter 227
—
The slimy strategist informs the Criminal Contractors Association of the Heavenly Dragon’s
departure. This good news, more than enough, it seems the Administrator had another thing to
reveal. He summoned an old friend of Lim Jeon Goo, Mu Sam Ho, the Two Finger Mystic
Demon. While the two caught up, the war seemed to be swinging in their favor.
Back on the Heavenly Dragon Association’s side, the Grass Troupe Union is currently crossing
the mountains for a mission. As they camp for the night, the group is feeling rather conflicted. In
order to maintain a high morale, they need to keep winning battles. However, if they want to
survive, they need to ground themselves in reality or else die of overconfidence. Sadly, they are
all at the mercy of the Heavenly Dragon’s foolish sons. Survival will be on extra-hard mode
thanks to that.
In a recent battle, the Lightning Dragon unit suffered significant casualties against the Two
Finger Mystic Demon. Jeon Ang was unable to defeat Sam Ho, but if third young master Gun
Jun attacked from the flanks as planned, the outcome of the battle would have been different. It
was not the first time he did this either. He is constantly creating issues for his own forces.
The Grass Troupe Union has saved hundreds of lives, but if the brothers are going to sacrifice
them in vain, then Noh prefers to just focus on saving their own group instead. Captain Ham
understands why his vice-captain feels this way, but he believes it is better to not stoop so low.
He angrily shuts down Gajang’s rash thoughts. In the end, they can’t just focus on the present
without consideration for the future. Noh calms down upon hearing this logic and is grateful that
Captain Ham is here to keep him grounded.
Back at the main camp, Gun Gang is frustrated by his brother’s recent treachery. His advisors
suggest retaliating in order to maintain the balance of power for after the war and of course the
idiot gives the order to slow their advancing troops in order to inflict casualties on their own side.
Truly another facepalm moment.
Even without the Dark Master around, the situation is still not fully in favor of the Criminal
Contractors Association yet. They have also bolstered their own ranks with some martial arts
masters like Sage Go, yet another slimy looking villain.
On the Heavenly Dragon Association’s side, Kim Tae Hwan, the Martial Dragon, speaks to Il
Sang before their next deployment. He confirms the worries everyone has had so far about their
current orders. There is a difference between orders that make sense and ones that don’t. Tae
Hwan wants Il Sang to follow orders properly even if he does not understand them. However, he
expresses guilt because the current situation feels like he is sending Il Sang to his death.
Despite the dangers ahead, the Martial Dragon hopes that his vice-captain survives no matter
what. Luckily, Il Sang is a better martial artist than his boss and was able to remain confident.
As Il Sang marches his forces forward, he feels that they have over extended and is uneasy
about the situation. Something definitely feels wrong.
—
Chapter 228
—
Confirming the unease, Tang Gunoh urges Gun Gang to deploy his forces to support the Martial
Dragon unit because they have been sent too far into enemy territory. Sadly, the idiot older Tang
son dismisses the issue like it isn’t even his problem. Gun Gang wonders why Gunoh is
speaking as though they are all on the same side. He is still overly focused on the political game
more so than the war itself. If the Martial Dragon unit is destroyed, the situation will turn against
the Heavenly Dragon Association rapidly. They must act immediately, but Gun Gang stubbornly
sticks to inaction. Since the foolish young master won’t budge, Gunoh threatens to report the
events to the Heavenly Dragon and goes to support Il Sang.
Gun Gang is afraid of his father and is genuinely threatened. In a devious move, he sends a
messenger to his brother and colludes to let Gunoh die in his efforts to save the Martial Dragon
unit. Gun Jun relaxes in his tent with every intention of not sending reinforcements either and
can only hold Gunoh in contempt. It really is a wonder how these two brothers can be so
arrogant and foolish at the same time.
The Grass Troupe Union are waiting to link up with the rest of the Heavenly Dragon Association,
but days have passed and no one has arrived yet. Gajang worries that they have been isolated
behind enemy lines and orders his men to abandon the position.
Il Sang’s forces still marching, they enter a valley and he realizes it to be their perfect ambush
location. He orders everyone to rush through before sunset to avoid an ambush. Unfortunately,
his worries are confirmed as a volley of arrows rain from both sides of the valley. He deflects the
missile fire with his spear and gives the order to retreat. Of course, escape will not be that easy
as the Criminal Contractors Association pincers the Heavenly Dragon Association’s column on
both sides.
Il Sang’s junior wants to hold the rear while everyone retreats, but is quickly refused. Il Sang
intends to do that himself while the survivor’s escape. However, the sight of his allies dying
drives him into a frenzy and the Criminal Contractors are thrown aside like ragdolls. Yet the
enemy refuses to let up and rush him from all sides.
—
Chapter 229
—
While all this chaos is going on, the Administrator is leisurely feeding his chickens. Colonel Jung
reports in, and seems to be quite free as well. Perhaps the guy is taking his job too lightly? No,
he’s just good at his job so it is quite peaceful and the martial artists of the Murim, who are
pretty much hooligans in the government’s eyes, do not actively trouble the populace. The
Colonel bows his head when the Administrator praises him, but is told to not do that so easily as
someone who works for the nation. The two chickens he was feeding start to fight, symbolizing
how the two idiot sons of Tang Munbi are acting right now. Lee Gangjin notes how the Heavenly
Dragon Association was once great, but is now being destroyed by squabbling kids.
It is because of those dumb children that Il Sang is now beset on all sides by the Criminal
Contractors Association. Guard Ha of the Criminal Contractors drops down from above and
clashes with Il Sang’s spear. Using his left hand, Il Sang counters with a simple punch, but it is
so powerful that the air pressure could cause damage. Even so, Guard Ha is skilled enough to
dodge and push Il Sang back with a kick. Il Sang is surprised by his opponent’s skill and
presumes that Guard Ha is a known martial artists, but he is not interested in formalities right
now.
The survivors of the Martial Dragon Unit continue their retreat under the command of squad
captain Hoo Sung. They ran straight for days in order to regroup with the Heavenly Dragon
Association’s main forces, but eventually intercepted. The Criminal Contractors under Sage Go
waited for them this whole time. The survivors utterly exhausted and are outnumbered, the
situation did not look good for them.
Back at home, Song Munseop regrets not joining the others in battle. However, he isn’t able to
use martial arts anymore so he can’t do much there. It has been a while since we have seen the
Noh twins. The two greet their senior brother and we can see that they have grown up a bit.
They can be differentiated by their differing hair styles now.
On the other hand, Seohyeon is enjoying her time with Maksoo. While her Uncle Heo is trying to
nap, she swims around the boat. However, all her excitement splashes him awake. The Water
Demon does not like swimming leisurely which is pretty ironic. Seohyeon has also grown up
since the war started and now has longer hair.
—
Chapter 230
—
As the surviving members of the Martial Dragon unit charge at the enemy blockade, Gunoh
arrives only to witness the weakened state of his allies. He realizes that he did not make it in
time to save them from being ambushed and quickly intervenes with his hidden weapons to
save the survivors. Using the Tang clan’s techniques, the weapons burst in the air like a MIRV,
scattering in the sky and raining down upon the Criminal Contractors. Actually, maybe it’s more
like a Touhou bullet hell.
Both allies and enemies are stunned by Gunoh’s sudden arrival. Without missing a beat,
another barrage of hidden weapons hits the shocked Criminal Contractors face first. The
reinforcements charge into the enemy lines to kick the blockade aside. There is no excitement
or fear in the eyes of the Martial Dragon unit, but they know what they have to do and follow the
momentum.
Sage Tao understands that the Heavenly Martial unit is strong, but is too small in number to
make a difference to the overall situation. Instead of stubbornly holding the line here, he orders
his men to open the path and let the Heavenly Dragon Association’s forces through. The
devious taoist plans on using the Golden Bridge stratagem to annihilate them.
As expected, Gunoh and his forces were hit constantly, but never completely pinned into a fight
to the death. While morale was at an all-time low, Gunoh did not give up. He inspires his troops
by reminding them that their presence here holds up their frontlines. If they were to be defeated,
then the tides of war will literally drown the Heavenly Dragon Association. He also is holding
onto hope that reinforcements will arrive from the dumb blonde brothers. Can they possibly just
sit around doing nothing the entire time?
Sadly, break time is over for the surviving warriors. Sage Go arrives to make their lives
miserable again. Even so, Gunoh proclaims that the Tang clan will never surrender and is willing
to fight to the death to ensure his enemies suffer as much as possible. He aims straight at the
sage with the Rampaging Flower Storm technique. The hidden weapons flow out and tear
through the enemy lines with ease. Although the mobs fall with ease, Sage Go easily blocks
every shot with the tip of his sword. Gunoh is shocked by the display of strength and has no
choice but to take the fight at close range with his sword.
The sage flexibly dodges Gunoh’s first strike and even counters from the most bizarre position.
After a few exchanges, neither side makes much progress against each other.
Suddenly a loud war cry is heard from the distance which draws the Criminal Contractors’
attention away. Finally, Noh Gajang, the Peerless Dad, makes his appearance on the battlefield.
Judging by the situation with Gunoh, Noh understands that his own forces are definitely isolated
as well.
—
Chapter 231
—
Of course, as low-class villains, the Criminal Contractors underestimate the Grass Troupe Union
without hesitation. Much like with a low-level slime, Gajang decimates them instantly. The mere
sight of this changes Sage Go’s perspective. Suddenly they are the ones who are surrounded
by the Heavenly Dragon Association. He orders a hasty retreat and NOPES out of here before
things go really wrong.
On the other hand, Gunoh is happy to see Noh. He misunderstands something though and
believes that reinforcements have finally arrived, but sadly the Grass Troupe is just as
abandoned as the Martial Dragon and Heavenly Martial units.
After retreating, Sage Go has lunch back at camp with Guard Ha. The two discuss the
encounter with Noh Gajang and Sage Go is surprised that Guard Ha already knows the first-rate
warrior. Sage Go is uncertain of how strong the Peerless Dad actually is, since he lets his
energy run wild. With masters usually hiding it, but since Noh did not. Guard Ha iterates how
hitting the first-rate warrior felt like hitting iron and how one of the Criminal Contractor branches
was destroyed. This seems to indicate to both men that Noh Gajang is likely a martial master.
At any rate, the strategy does not change. Sage Go will have their forces continue the Golden
Bridge strategy. He is truly underestimating the threat that Noh poses.
The survivors join up with the Grass Troupe and everyone realizes how bad the situation really
is now. It’s pretty ridiculous that the blonde idiots of the Tang clan would send so many of their
elites to die like this.
A scout returns to inform the group that there is an open path on the rear mountain path of
Mount Myojang. Gunoh and Captain Ham mistakenly believe that the enemy has not finished
their encirclement, but Gajang knows better. He feels like they wouldn’t be so dumb, but
perhaps the stress of the situation is finally catching up to everyone. This clearly a trap, the
Martial Dragon Squad should have been able to break the encirclement. The enemy has
everything under their control so there is no way there is simply an open escape route. Both
Captain Ham and Gunoh lack experience, which is why their judgment is currently clouded by
the crisis they are in.
So, what can they do if they do not take the escape route? Since Gajang understands the
Golden Bridge trap, the best move they can take is to go on the offensive instead of retreating.
Captain Ham is utterly baffled by this idea. It is counter-intuitive to charge deeper into enemy
territory after all, but their group still has plenty of manpower. Luckily, the Criminal Contractors’
main forces are on the frontlines, so there will be significantly less resistance deeper into their
territory. Noh explains the general purpose of the Golden Bridge strategy to Captain Ham and
surprises Gunoh with his calm analysis of their predicament. The Peerless Dad takes charge of
their forces and assures them he will get them out alive.
Thanks to the chaos caused by the Tang blondes, the frontlines began to collapse. Kim Tae
Hwan is desperately fighting trying to hold on, but the two young masters do not send any
reinforcements and don’t even have the courtesy to send a message to let them know that.
Even though his daughter is Gun Jun’s wife, he swears to make them pay for this.
Due to the lack of a proper command structure, Tae Hwan also does not know what is the
situation on other fronts. This responsibility should have fallen to the Wise Dragon Ji Hakdo, but
for some reason he has not been active. There is a good reason for that though and Tae Hwan
simply did not know it at the moment.
The Wise Dragon’s camp was ambushed. The timeline isn’t too clear here, but we can assume
that it happened before the Martial Dragon’s struggle. The Two Finger Mystic Demon led the
attack and faced off against Ji Hakdo. How could the Heavenly Dragon Association have known
that the Criminal Contractors Association brought in outside help? It is thanks to the
Administrators interference that Sam Ho is here in the first place.
The Two Finger Mystic Demon offers to spare the Wise Dragon if he surrenders, but does
anyone give up that easily in this world?
—
Chapter 232
—
Obviously not, Ji Hakdo charges Mu Sam Ho without hesitation. Surprisingly, the Mystic Demon
blocks Hakdo’s sword with his single finger. However, because his opponent specializes in
ranged combat, the Wise Dragon fights him in melee. Even so, this fight is mostly a stalemate
initially. In order to dodge the Mystic Demons ranged fingertip lasers, Hakdo focuses upon the
demon's 2 fingered right hand. Eventually, his sword is caught by the two fingered hand, and
Hakdo aims for an acupoint strike. He made a grave mistake here though. While Sam Ho’s
reputation revolves around his hand with only 2 fingers, this does not mean his left hand is not
functional. With a solid left punch, the Wise Dragon is left on his knees in a small crater. Luckily,
he did not go down like a certain Yamcha.
*I prefer the Bocchi the Rock version, but the original is probably more well known, so use either
or maybe even both?*
Ji Hakdo demonstrates why he is one of the Heavenly Dragon Associations pavilion leaders
here. He doesn’t surrender nor does he simply accept defeat. Using his remaining strength, he
overloads his sword with internal energy and braces himself to take down his enemy, even if it
costs him his life.
Although the Mystic Demon is not dead, he is severely injured by the attack. This looks like it’s
the end for Ji Hakdo, as he is now incapacitated by his final attack. As Sam Ho goes in for the
execution, the Flying Dragon rushes for the save. Just in the nick of time, his sword deflects the
internal energy beam meant to kill Ji Hakdo, causing it to penetrate through his own shoulder
instead. Using that momentary opening, he throws the Wise Dragon over his shoulder and
hightails it out of there.
The Mystic Demon is left puking blood as his injuries stop him from catching the Dragons. Sam
ho’s lazy companion just watches the whole thing go down from next to him. Thanks to this
battle, Mu Sam Ho will be out of commission for a few months, but without the Wise Dragon, the
Heavenly Dragon Association lost its command structure. Additionally, Lee Mun Yang, lost use
of his arm from deflecting the beam meant for Hakdo. This greatly weakened their forces even
more.
There one more reason why the war was going badly. The Heavenly Martial unit under the direct
command of Tang Munbi refuses to take orders from the third young blonde idiot. The person
entrusted with the unit is Tang Gunoh who is the current captain. Gang Jun is utterly frustrated
by this and swears to disband them after he becomes patriarch. What a pipe dream. After all of
this, he still believes that he has the right to become the Heavenly Dragon.
In the end, all of these reasons are tied to the squabbling between the two Tang brothers.
—
Chapter 233
—
The Heavenly Martial unit is conflicted with their own decision. The Heavenly Dragon
Association is being defeated across the front, so they want to do something to salvage the
situation. Their main concern is being sacrificed like the Martial Dragon unit if they follow orders
from either Tang blonde brothers. Tang Gunho rushed out without waiting for the full unit to save
the Martial Dragons and this is why the Heavenly Martial unit has still not moved out yet. There
is a fantastic alternative solution to this. The Heavenly Martial unit can simply rush into enemy
territory to regroup with their captain. However, the vice-captain will not take this course of
action if they do not agree on it unanimously. These masked elites have no qualms about this
though. They seem to care a lot about their captain and all decide to go.
Of course, back at the main camp, Tang Gun Gang blames his brother for this chaos. Taking
responsibility is a little too difficult for this sad spoiled man. Luckily for him, the enemy is making
an unexpected retreat down the mountain.
Deep in the Criminal Contractor Association’s territory, their sects are mostly undermanned and
guarded by low-ranking mobs. While these mobs do some NPC chatting amongst themselves, a
hungry Noh Gajang kicks the door open. Well, I guess these men are absolutely doomed then.
The base is easily captured and the Heavenly Dragon warriors eat their fill. They are only
starving because they ended up compensating the inn they were at for the damages incurred in
a fight with the Criminal Contractors. This ended up costing them all of their money, but they
can’t just leave the commoners to suffer like that after all. Although originally Gajang was totally
opting for the ‘let’s just leave everyone else to die’ route, he clearly has changed his mind after
that conversation with Captain Ham earlier. He tells Sam Cho they should be protecting
commoners since they are all just struggling to survive in their own ways.
Noh also worries for Tang Gunho. They separated into two groups with Captain Ham and Gunho
leading the other force. Gunho is running low on the hidden missile like weapons and seems to
lack battlefield experience. Although it is a nice sentiment, perhaps they do not have the luxury
to worry about others at the moment.
The main reason why the Criminal Contractors retreated is because of the chaos being caused
in their rear. Gajang and his forces are hitting them where they have very few members. This
infuriates Lim Jeon Goo. How could an entrapped and significantly reduced force still be running
wild in their territory? The other leaders blame Guard Ha and Sage Go for being too cautious. It
is because they are unwilling to take losses against the enemy that they utilized the Golden
Bridge strategy. If the rear forces handling Noh and the others do not return to the front, the war
will start to slip away from them. The squabbling between these commanders is cut short as
Jeon Goo gives his orders. They need to stay united if they want to win after all. Guard Ha is
given a month to defeat the Gunho and Gajang force. Otherwise, he needs to abandon the fight
and return to the frontline.
The sects of the Criminal Contractors Association have thus far been withholding their elite
units. Lim Jeon Goo orders these forces to be deployed or else he will wipe them out personally.
He is pretty desperate to end this battle before the Dark Master can return from dealing with the
Murim Alliance.
Both Sage Go and Guard Ha underestimated the Heavenly Dragon Association’s warriors.
Simply chasing this guerilla force around is pretty unproductive. Instead, Sage Go has a rather
insidious plan that Guard Ha has doubts about. The two speak about this plan very vaguely, but
we can assume that it has the consequence of drawing the attention of a certain Administrator if
they screw up.
Lee Gangjin is leisurely feeding some koi fish this time as he receives another report. His agent
wonders if it is okay to leave Gajang alone, since things have gotten dangerous for him out
there and because the Administrator seems to be keeping an eye on him overall. It is normal for
someone who fights for a living to take risks, but Gangjin is confident that there will be no
issues. He understands how strong Noh Gajang truly is and also understands that the Peerless
Dad tends to underestimate himself. Although that has changed a lot lately, Noh does not know
the true extent of his own power and is too cautious to take a risk to find out. Even so, the
Administrator believes that Gajang will know what to do when push comes to shove.
Interestingly, it seems the Murim Alliance did not suffer too badly thanks to Tang Munbi’s
diplomatic stance. It isn’t what Gangjin was hoping for, but no evil plan is perfect I suppose.

Chapter 234
—
Eventually, Captain Ham and Tang Gunoh reunite with Gajang. Their offensive action behind
enemy lines has been successful, but Noh did not really plan beyond that. Gunoh is surprised,
but is not as uneasy as he was at the beginning. Their current situation is actually better now
that they aren’t overly focused on just escaping.
Gajang gathered the warriors here because there are plenty of escape routes. Although he has
no plans for the next move, he was preparing for a possible retreat in case they needed it. They
are also free to continue harassing their enemies of course. In that case, Gunoh has a target in
mind: the Dawn Fowl Troupe. This is a sect of incredibly heinous criminals. According to Sam
Cho, they are a group that raids universally across land and water. Even villages are not beyond
their scopes.
Currently they belong to the Criminal Contractors Association. Considering they are both an
immoral group and enemies, this is a perfect target. If they want a safer retreat, they also need
supplies and money. Gunoh’s suggestion impresses Gajang. It shows that the man is not an
idiot like the blonde brothers and also a decent leader who is willing to listen to the opinions of
others. He did not simply order them to attack, he made it as a suggestion in case they wanted
to continue the fight.
Gajang is down with this idea if everyone else is. Everyone accepts our protagonist as their
commander, so they have no issues following his orders. Gunoh is low on hidden missiles
though. He laments that he might not be much help to the group, but Captain Ham worries that
he might have misspoken when he so easily accepted Noh as commander. It’s fine, the
Heavenly Martial captain is just venting a bit openly. Overall, they are all being more casual and
open with each other now.
Our attention shifts far away from the war now. The water demon god is currently with Shim
Yeok Sah. We learn that her name is Hwan and an old friend of his that he hoped did not
become a demon god. Without any sanity, she attacks him. He apologizes to her and
overwhelms her with water techniques that seemingly destroy her body. He sheds tears for her
and Mo Wei comes to check on him. They were hoping to save her from the curse of the 5
clans, but in the end, it was too late. Perhaps if Hwan did not fight Cheon Soso, she would have
not lost herself, but in the end, they can’t truly know that. It is her own desires and impatience
that eventually turned her into a demon god.
Their thoughts shift towards their disciples. They have been keeping up to date with news about
them, but they worry nonetheless. It seems the Bloodless Duo are running out of time and need
to find their disciples again to ensure they do not go down the same path as the other demon
gods.
It’s been a while since we have seen the Noh children. The twins are currently watching some
ruffian types harass the locals around the castle for money. The twins have been warned to not
use their strength on normal people, so they need to report it to their seniors instead. The mobs
notice the brothers, but the shopkeeper tells them it is okay. They also understand that the kids
will get in trouble if they interfere. However, the harassment gets worse as the shop is trashed.
This sends Gunghyun over the edge and he knocks out a chubbier trash mob with a single slap.
—
Chapter 235
—
The other ruffian mobs attack, but they are obviously no match for a martial artist. The entire
group is taken down with finesse. Gungmyeong, who was calm the whole time, speaks out
against his brother's actions. This is not a problem that should be fixed with violence. The
shopkeeper tells them to hurry home and takes responsibility for the entire situation. The other
citizens join in to beat on the ruffian mobs as well in order to keep the children safe from further
trouble.
The twins confess to the former Flying Dragon about the incident. The Spirit Origin Hall taught
them to not use their power against ordinary people, while Il Sang taught them to not allow
injustice. Moon Jung Woo taught the twins that martial arts are meant to protect the weak and
punish evil. Gunghyun knew he did something against their rules, but felt that it was necessary
to stand up for the commoners who could not do so themselves. Gungmyeong did try to stop his
brother, but does not believe his twin was in the wrong. Their master has watched the two grow
up so much and is proud of them. Even though they knew there would be a punishment, they
still acted upon their beliefs of justice.
However, they also need to understand the potential consequences of their actions beyond
punishment. If those trash mobs had backers stronger than the twins and wished to retaliate,
then the people in the market would have been collateral damage along the way. The important
lesson here is that it is difficult to tell what is right from wrong in the world and
misunderstandings are difficult to resolve. These issues can cascade into someone else's life
being ruined because of their rash actions. The twins accept their wrongdoing. They have truly
grown mature since the beginning.
Given the current circumstances, people are suffering due to the lack of security from the
absence of the hired warriors of the Grass Troupe Union. In that case, the former Flying Dragon
is willing to allow them to not hold back against trying to help others. Their master has their
backs.
Deep in enemy territory, Gajang is feeling uneasy because there seems to be someone
following them. He is unsure if there really is anyone there, so perhaps he is just feeling tired or
something. Sam Cho suggests sending out some scouts to check, but Gajang does not want
them to go just because he has a vague feeling about it.
It not actually a vague feeling. The Administrator’s observers are nearby and maintaining
distance from them. The agents believe that the Criminal Contractor Association is laying a trap
for the warriors, but it is not really their issue. If the Criminal Contractors DO cross the line, then
they will be allowed to intervene, which might be better actually.
Later into the night, the Dawn Fowl Troupe is moving plunder off boats. Their leader, Son Hang,
is happy that they were given an opening to do some crimes. It seems that they were given a
specific period of time to raid and gather funds for the Criminal Contractors Association.
Normally, this would not be allowed in fear of government intervention. Additionally, they have
been raiding villages and capturing women to be sold into boom boom work. Youtube safe, am I
right. Drop a Like if you like the video so far.
Guard Ha is observing from nearby and is utterly disgusted by this. He knew that they should
have not let such people into the Association. Interestingly, he is pretty upright for someone who
was part of a criminal group. Sage Go notices this fact and asks Guard Ha about his current
issues with getting stronger. The disgusting snake of a taoist advises the guard to be ‘faithful to
his desires.’ He claims that this is the path to strength. This makes Guard Ha really question the
origins of Sage Go’s martial arts.
However, this is the plan the taoist came up with. He wants to use the Heavenly Dragon
Association’s sense of justice to lure them into a trap. The Dawn Fowl Troupe is obviously a
blight that the Tang clan and the others can not overlook, so by allowing these criminals to run
rampant and perform heinous crimes, Gajang and the others will definitely come to attack them.
That would be justice after all.
—
Chapter 236
—
As expected, despite the hundreds of enemies in the area, Gajang can’t stand watching their
criminal acts. In his eyes, these are no longer humans they are dealing with, but beasts. He is
conflicted between their own safety and justice, but the others are willing to follow him
regardless of the choice. Captain Ham further reiterates that point as well. While it is the right
thing to save those captured villagers, they also need to focus on their own survival as well. Noh
weighs the options and tries to find more justifications for attacking, and finally comes to the
ultimate conclusion.
The enemy has a cargo ship and that is the perfect way for them to evacuate from enemy
territory. In that case, they MUST attack the enemy to ensure their own survival. As an added
bonus, they even get to save some people and dish out some well-deserved justice.
Speaking of boats, Maksoo is currently watching over Seohyeon and Baek Dong’s training. At
this point she has already mastered the ability to water bend like her Uncle Heo. She launches a
few shots at Baek Dong, only for the water to explode in his face. She has gotten rather
mischievous as of late and couldn’t help herself from pranking her older brother.
The crew of the ship have really grown attached to her. They watch over her lovingly like they
are watching their own daughter. It took Maksoo 10 years to learn to water bend, but amazingly
Seohyeon is already capable of it. Her training with him has managed to cleanse the earth
element, but she is still overflowing with uncontrollable energy. Maksoo does not believe he can
teach her further, since it is not resolving the underlying problems.
Seohyeon rides the water back up to the ship and makes a jumping flip over her uncle. She then
immediately latches on his back and hugs him. Maksoo criticizes her lack of distancing and
claims she will have trouble getting married at this rate, but Seohyeon prefers to just live with
her father forever.
Baek Dong also climbs back onto the ship, but he seems to be so damn heavy he rocks the
entire boat. Maksoo scolds him for this.
Grandpa Han will be arriving soon to pick up Seohyeon actually. She will be going off to the
Northern Seas next which is something that she has been looking forward to a lot. However, she
also does not want to part ways with Maksoo. Her uncle allows her to visit him anytime and she
promises to do just that. On another note, she does wish that Maksoo will finally forgive Gajang.
He thinks that Seohyeon should worry more about her health instead of the issues between her
uncle and father. Thanks to her time here, Seohyeon has gotten much better, and tells her
Uncle Heo to not worry. He tells her that he isn’t worried since she is smart. As she proclaimed
to her father before the war, she really got Maksoo to like her a lot.
Gajang has not seen his kids in a very long time. He sheds tears with them in his thoughts and
wonders why this war has lasted this long.
Why had the Heavenly Dragon not returned? And put an end to it already. This his thought
process, above all he wanted the old dragon to just be okay.
Tang Gunho takes an interest in Gajang’s tonfas. The Peerless Dad explains how it is a versatile
weapon that can switch between defense and offense easily and is easier to maintain than a
bladed weapon. On the topic of weapons, Noh is also interested in how the hidden missiles of
the Tang clan work. The weapons are actually some form of seed like stones. Gunho makes a
quick demonstration of how they are used and pierces a nearby tree with ease. Gajang is more
surprised by the fact Gunho is able to touch the missiles despite the poison coated onto them.
The Tang clan ingests poison with every meal, which gives them immunity. As a gift, Gunho
gives Gajang some antidotes and some weak poisons to ingest to help him build immunity. He
also requests to get some more later for the Noh children.
The discussion then turns to another predicament they are facing. Gunho is running out of
hidden missiles and openly admits it. Gajang feels like the man shouldn’t be expressing such
weakness as a martial artist, but assures him that he just needs to preserve his strength and act
when he gets the order. The Peerless Dad also jokes about how Gunho forced Taoist Go to
retreat during battle, but it was probably due to Gajang’s sudden arrival. As Gunho leaves,
Gajang thanks him for being so open about his current limitations.
Despite the high rank, the humble Gunho seems to garner the trust and respect of others unlike
his blonde cousins. Without realizing it, Gajang has come to rely upon him as well and wonders
why his personality is so different from the egotistical brothers. It is at this moment he finally
realizes an important fact.
The brothers are not the only candidates to become Heavenly Dragon. Rather than have two
idiotic successors who place their own people in danger for political power, why not choose the
person who rushes out to save others instead?

Chapter 237
—
Out on the border with the Murim Alliance, Tang Munbi awakens from his meditation under a
tree. His guards have been waiting 2 months and 4 days for him, much to his dismay. It is clear
that he is nearing the end much like Chun Myung Hoon was. Instead of staying here any longer
against the Murim Alliance, he finally makes his return to the Heavenly Dragon Association’s
battlefront against the Criminal Contractors Association.
The surviving units under Gajang make a surprise attack on the Dawn Fowl Troupe. Noh orders
Sam Cho to secure the prisoners much to his shock. If they do not want to be monsters like the
enemy, they must commit to virtuous actions.
Overall, the enemy is not that strong here, but Gajang feels something is off. He ignores it for
now and with a powerful blow, the twin tonfas send the mob characters flying. Unfortunately, his
unease was correct once again. Sage Go is leading enemy reinforcements from the mountain
side and charging straight into the fray. If they want to avoid casualties, then they will have to
retreat immediately. Gajang holds the rear as he orders the others to escape.
The aftermath of the battle was a one-sided slaughter festival. The first-rate warrior tore through
the trash mobs as though they were level 1 in a mmorpg and left heaps of bodies in his wake.
Since no one was able to match him, Gajang escaped with no problem. Guard Ha has no
choice but to acknowledge that his enemy is much stronger than anticipated.
Strangely, the taoist did not participate in the battle. He returns to Guard Ha completely covered
in blood, and expels some impurities from his body. Neither of the men understand the
fundamental root of Gajang’s martial arts. The only reason he is able to brute force fights is
because he is of the Metal clan. Well since the taoist underestimates him, he thinks it is possible
to chase them down. Additionally, the Heavenly Dragon Association’s warriors are now bogged
down protecting innocent civilians from harm as well. Taoist Go is definitely willing to eliminate
the innocent lives if it gives them the chance to win. He does not even seem concerned with the
threat of possible government intervention.
Gajang has been running for a long time now and is utterly exhausted. Along his path he
discovers some bodies that have been drained of vitality. This is due to an insidious style of
martial arts that devours others to bolster oneself. Without a doubt this is the work of Sage Go.
What an absolutely disgusting monster.
Gajang swears to eliminate this threat. The worry he has for everyone else is driving him
forward right now. His main issue is the fact he does not know how to prepare for a fight against
a martial master nor understand what sort of threat this will be.
—
Chapter 238
—
Sam Cho and a portion of the force is currently engaging the Criminal Contractors while
protecting the rescued prisoners. Just as one of the enemies is about to strike him down,
Gajang arrives just in time to remove the man’s head. Now that their commander is here, the
tides of battle turn in their favor.
The men are utterly exhausted, but they are also protecting many innocent civilians as well.
During the escape, Captain Ham and Gunho split ways with Sam Cho to help weaken the
enemy pursuit. It is thanks to them that Sam Cho and his men are still alive. Their goal now is to
reach the county of Wuhan in order to leave the rescued prisoners in government protection.
Sam Cho suggests that they rest first, but they have no choice but to press on considering how
their enemies are still close.
Sam Cho wounds open back up as they travel. It will likely worsen if he does not rest. He
decides to endure it, but Gajang wonders if he wants to escape alone since it would be easier to
avoid being caught. However, Sam Cho does not want to survive without the others. Noh pats
him on the shoulder and declares that they should all live on then.
Another thing to note is the safety of the civilians. Are they in more danger because of the
warriors who saved them? Gajang recalls the drained corpses and that answers the question
really. It would be more dangerous to leave them at the mercy of a monster without protection.
Speaking of a dangerous monster, Sage Go intercepts the group. Gajang orders his men to wait
and hold position. He will deal with the monster alone.
Earlier in the forest, Sage Go was draining life force. He does not get much stronger from
devouring these men and even feels as though they polluted his energy instead. His goal seems
to be to drain the strong enemies and attain a position amongst the 7 demons. He is a bit
deluded though and even thinks that he could be among the 5 supremes.
He vastly underestimates Gajang. He orders his troops to weaken the first-rate warrior first, but
Gajang jumps straight into the middle of the enemy cluster and sends them flying one at a time.
At this moment, our protagonist reflects upon his life a bit. He is not what you call a good or evil
person, but at the very least he will try his best to not do anything inhumane. While it has not
been the most idolized or ideal life, he is not ashamed of the way he lived.
With a spin of his body, a tempest decimates his surrounding enemies. He recalls how his wife,
Seomun Mira, was taken from him by fate, but kept himself grounded thanks to his children. He
does not want his children to carry the burden of his sins, so he chooses not to be evil. In his
despair, perhaps he would have embarked on a darker path to curse the world, but instead he
became a Peerless Dad.
—
Chapter 239
—
The low-level enemies have all retreated, and Gajang declares that he will kill Sage Go. What a
change in resolve. Gajang spent most of this war feeling like he was barely surviving, but at the
moment, he is prepared to kill an enemy he felt was beyond him.
Sage Go is handed a duster which is his true weapon. The battle initiates when the taoist
seemingly flash steps forward to strike. Gajang takes a huge swipe to the chest, but is otherwise
still fine. The duster then locks onto one of the tonfas. Upon separating, the twin tonfas clash
violently against the duster.
It is finally time for Noh to unleash his true power. Metal elemental energy is unleashed around
him. To be honest I am not sure if this is Metal Ki or not, but it bolsters him enough to force
Sage Go to show his own internal energy that sharpens the duster like a sword. The taoist
activates the flurry barrage skill and forces Gajang back a bit. Upon creating an opening, the
duster sharpens once more and stabs our protagonist right in the sternum. However, no matter
how much force he uses, the tip of this duster blade does not pierce Gajang at all.
Thanks to this failed attack, an overhead strike with the tonfa shatters the taoist’s left wrist.
Sage Go is forced to back off, and his men form a defensive formation around him. Against a
rampaging Gajang, this defensive formation is about as good as flimsy paper. The first few
warriors are utterly vaporized in the attack.
Sage Go understands that victory is unlikely now, and opts to drain his nearest ally for vitality.
Even though this will heal the taoist, Noh has no problems with it and is even willing to wait for
him. Sage Go is doing Gajang’s work for him by eliminating members of the Criminal
Contractors Association. Another two warriors are absorbed and the rest of the Criminal
Contractors quickly run away in fear. The Taoist not worried in the least. He had enough energy
to instantly restore his broken wrist.
We have reached the climax of the battle between Noh Gajang and Sage Go! A lot of things
have happened over the course of this war arc. The children have grown up and Gajang is
maturing in his own way as well. He used to underestimate himself a lot, but he is starting to
finally understand the extent of his power. Turn on post notifications to know when the next part
