Writing Skills Review: Parts of Speech

Worksheet 1

A. Parts of Speech Overview

Read the following paragraph. Then follow the instructions bellow.
When my father retired, about ten years ago, he and my mother moved to
a retirement community in Florida. They both like their new home. My
father usually has an active day. He gets up early every morning to play
tennis with some friends. He plays early in the morning because it gets too
hot to play tennis later in the day. He has lunch at home with my mother,
and after lunch he goes to the clubhouse to play bridge. He frequently takes
my mother out to dinner. This gives my mother a break from cooking.
Some evenings, they go to the movies. Other times they stay home, and
my father prepares for the class that he is teaching at the clubhouse. Even
though my father is getting older, all this activity helps him to feel younger.
