SUMMARY
The list of validated video cards are reported on “Minimum and recommended system
requirements” document
Dongle key use requirements are reported on “Minimum and recommended system
requirements” document
Warning notes on the software use are reported on “Minimum and recommended system
requirements” document
Use a wired LAN Gigabit network. The use of LAN WiFi does not ensure image archives/program
database consistency and could cause data corruption and/or loss.
If the Workstation is connected on the network through a switch, it is suggested to use a switch
with the following performances:
Switching / Routing ≥ 88 Gbps (24 port versions) ≥ 136 Gbps (48 port versions)
capacity (max)
Throughput (max)1 ≥ 64 Mpps (24 port versions) ≥ 99 Mpps (48 port versions)
Latency < 10 μs
1 The indication of the Throughput, unless otherwise specified, usually comes reported to a 64byte size of Ethernet packet.
NOTE:
Some card models may require an additional power
connector.
NOTE:
Before installing these cards, make sure that the
motherboard has a free PCI Express X16 slot (“PCIEx16
Slot” in the figure) and that the PC power source can
distribute at least 400W.
NOTE:
The HP Z2 / Z2xx workstation supplied from CEFLA S.C.
comes provided with installed graphic card.
If it is necessary to install a graphic card in a new
workstation or reinstall it manually, please refer to the
following procedure.
Graphic card Power supply 1) Turn off the computer and insert the new
Radeon HD / graphic card into PCI Express X16 slot.
R series
In case of AMD/Sapphire® Radeon Pro /
Radeon HD / R series, connect this card to
the power connector with 6 pins if required
(always present in the HP workstation
supplied from CEFLA S.C., otherwise use an
adapter).
Additional power

Before installing detector drivers please install .NET Framework 3.5 libraries by following these
steps:
1) Copy “.NET_Framework_3.5” folder into C:\ from NNT USB installation pen (..\NNT\Varex
path)
Along with the receptor a "PaxScan 2520D Receptor Installation CD" is purchased. Prior to
installing any file, check the receptor serial number printed on the cd front side is the same of
the detector that is actually mounted on the device.
3. Click "Install".
6. Run the batch file “2520D-HcpConfig_ini-update.bat” just copied: the process will
automatically perform the required adjustments to the panel configuration files.
Required when updating NNT software version 5.6 or previous to NNT software version 6.0 /
7-0 / 8.0
General Information:
The installation or upgrade of NNT software version 5.6 or previous to NNT software version 8.0
requires the installation of Varex Paxscan L09 driver.
Notes:
- In case of NewTom VGi and NewTom 5G devices the new driver installation also requires
the adjustment of some detector configuration properties.
- After installing the driver, in case of restore of the detector configuration files (from receptor
CD or from a backup performed prior L09 installation) see Appendix A at the end of this
document.
WARNING:
IN CASE OF PANEL FIRMWARE UPDATE:
- DO NOT UNPLUG THE PANEL WHILE THE UPGRADE IS IN PROGRESS.
- DO NOT PERFORM OTHER OPERATIONS AND/OR ACTIONS WITH THE
WORKSTATION/OPERATING SYSTEM IN ORDER TO AVOID TO LOOSE THE
CONNECTION WITH THE PANEL.
From the NNT setup CD run “setup.exe” (this must be run with administrative rights).
Switch off the device. Wait at least 10 seconds then switch it on again.
WARNING : skipping the above step could result in a failed installation of the driver.
Run the "install.exe" file (this must be run with administrative rights).
In case the application prompts to uninstall any existing “Pleora Vision SDK drivers” press “Ok” to
continue and please wait until the uninstallation process is completed.
Remark:
This step can take several minutes and requires a reboot after the uninstallation process.
If the installer doesn’t automatically resume after reboot, run the "Varex\install.exe" file again.
The setup process will show the license agreement window: select “I Agree” to continue the
installation.
During installation some dialog boxes may appear: please, follow the instructions displayed.

how to fix the issue.
A window will appear showing the list of Ethernet adapters installed on the PC (the list may be
different from the example below). The “eBUS Universal Pro Driver” is required only on “Intel Pro
1000” adapter directly connected to the detector of the device (for example, in the screenshot
below the adapter highlighted in green). To avoid unnecessary load on the other adapters
(especially on the other one connected to the device), please remove the “eBUS Universal Driver”
following the instructions below.
After the computer rebooted, open the NNT software, invalidate the blank and perform a new blank
acquisition.
- Restoring of the detector configuration files from "Varex" receptor CD or from a backup performed

Packets in the configuration panel of the net adapter.
Example:
- Restoring of the detector configuration files from "Varex" receptor CD or from a backup performed
prior the L09 installation;
In case of Newtom VGi and Newtom 5G only, remember to repeat the step “Update panel
configuration file (Newtom VGi and Newtom 5G only)” if necessary.
As a last step in a detector installation process it is necessary to set the folder of its
configuration files in the NNT software. Please perform these actions:
An imager file set is uniquely associated to its particular receptor. If a detector has to be
replaced, its files must be uninstalled and substituted with the new ones.
Essential files in the detector folder may result corrupted by awkward use of the workstation or
by other unexpected malfunctioning. Some of these files can be easily regenerated by the NNT
software without any external intervention. Other ones have to be replaced reinstalling the
detector files.
3. Select "Uninstall".
For detail about mounting the graphic card, please refer to the procedures described in the Par.
1.3
Refer to the Windows 7 Professional Edition documentation for detailed instructions regarding
the installation of the Operating System.
Refer to the Windows 8 - 8.1 Professional Edition documentation for detailed instructions
regarding the installation of the Operating System.
In case of Windows 8 32 bit please refer to the following paragraph in order to set correctly the
RAM memory allocation.
NOTE:
During the operation it could be necessary to reinstall the graphic card drivers. Make sure to
have the drivers before proceeding with the operation.
3. Now, close the command prompt, restart the computer and reinstall the graphic card
drivers if necessary.
Refer to the Windows 10 Professional Edition documentation for detailed instructions regarding
the installation of the Operating System.
