Reading Comprehension: My Best Friend’s Visit

Read the passage below and then complete all the tasks below:
I was very happy today. It was the first day of
the mid term holiday and my friend Hanna was
coming to Middlesbrough to visit me. She was
coming by train from Birmingham and was
going to arrive at about eleven o’clock at the
train station. I woke very early this morning to
go to the gym and I was home at seven o’clock
in time to have breakfast with my mother. As I
had lots of things to do before Hanna arrived. I
first decided to walk to the bus stop to catch a bus to town. I needed to go
to the post office to post a few letters and then I had to go to the bank to
get some money to spend while Hanna was with me. Our fridge was empty,
so I had to go to the supermarket to buy food for breakfast and snacks to
eat when we were home in the evenings. Mum wanted me to take some
books back to the library which was next to the cinema. I thought while I
was so near, it would be a good idea to book two seats to watch a good
horror movie that evening. Time was passing quickly and it was nearly eleven
o’clock. I rushed to the train station, where I found Hanna’s train had just
arrived. It was so good to see her again. After lots of hugs, we both walked to
a nearby café and drank coffee and talked for nearly two hours. Hanna
wanted to go to the shops before going to the cinema because she forgot to
pack her pyjamas and tooth brush.
