. b) Lime Concrete in foundation @ Rs. 245/cubic superstructure @ Rs. 395/cubic
c) 1st class brickwork in cement mortar 1:6 in f) Plastering @ Rs. 19.20/Sq.m (12 mm outside and
foundation & plinth @ Rs. 335/cubic 10 mm inside)
d) 2.5 cm cc DPC @ Rs. 37/Sq.m g) Whitewashing inside (2 coats) @ Rs. 2.50/Sq.m.

The owner of a plot of land wants to construct a 1BHK load bearing building. To apply for a loan, he wishes to know the total cost of the
project. As an estimator, calculate the total cost. Take inner dimensions of bedroom as 3.5m × 3.5m, kitchen as 3m × 3.5m, hall as 6.8m × 4m
and wall thickness of 30cm.

a) Earthwork in Excavation Rs. 410/cu. m

b) Lime Concrete in foundation @ Rs. 250/ cu. m

c) 1st class brickwork in cement mortar 1:6 in foundation & plinth @ Rs. 375/cu m

d) 2.5 cm cc DPC @ Rs. 32/sq. m

e) 1st class brickwork in lime mortar in super structure @ Rs. 390/ Cu.m

f) Plastering @ Rs. 19.50/ Sq.m

12 mm Outside

10 mm inside

g) White washing inside (2 coats) @ Rs. 2.60/ sq. m

A new state highway has been proposed to be constructed in your city. The first phase of construction
for a length of 400m requires a detailed estimate for quoting a tender. As a site engineer you have been
asked to prepare a detailed estimate of quantity of earthwork required for a 400m length road from the
following data:

Chainage 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17

RL of ground 112 111.8 111.7 111.6 111.5 111.3 111.4 111.6

RL of formation --------------------------112.6-----------------------------

Formation width of the road is 10m. Side slopes are 2:1 in banking and 1.5:1 in cutting. Rate of earthwork in
banking is Rs.275 per % cum and in cutting is Rs 35 per % cum. Length of chain = 30m. Also calculate the
area of side slopes.
