FISCO

WhychooseFISCO?
UserswhohaveselectedFISCOhavedonesoforoneormoreofthefollowingreasons: 1. Internationallyrecognized TheIEC6007927standardthatdefinestherulesforselecting,installingandmaintainingFISCO apparatusisinternationallyrecognizedandadoptedintothenationalstandardssystemsof manycountriesworldwide.TheFISCOstandardisalsorecognizedbytheFieldbusFoundation andiscomprehensivelysupportedintheFoundationsapplicationguides,suchasAG163(for 31.25kbits/sIntrinsicallySafeSystems).

2. Familiar,established,safe TheentirefieldsegmentofaFISCOinstallationincludingTrunkandSpursisintrinsicallysafe, meaningthatconventionalISmaintenancepracticecanbeapplieduniversally.Thismaybe especiallyimportantforenduserswhoaremakingthetransitionfromconventionalpointto pointwiringtoFieldbus,andwhowishtotransferfamiliarandestablishedISpracticewithout theneedforretrainingofinstrumenttechnicians.Intrinsicsafetyisalsowelldocumentedin theinstallationcodesofallindustrializednations,andbenefitsfromclearlydefinedrulesforthe openingoffieldenclosuresandmaintenanceofcircuitswhileenergized.

AssemblingFISCOsegments
ToensurecompliancewithFISCO,thepowersupplyandfieldbusinstrumentsmustnotonlybecertified toconventionalISstandards(appropriatetotheZoneorDivisionofuse),buttheymustalsocomply withtheIEC6007927standardandbemarkedFISCO.Furtheranalysisofthesafetyparametersisnot necessary,sincecompatibilityisautomaticallyguaranteedbythecertificationprocess.Thesafety parametersforFISCOpowersuppliesandFieldbusinstrumentsaregiveninTables12.1and12.2, respectively.TheDeviceCouplerandTerminatorsmustalsocarryIScertificationandhaveinputsafety parametersthatarecompatiblewiththeoutputofthesupply.
