• Moot court, pre-trial preparation and participation in trial/proceeding observance of trial in
court.
• Attaching with the chamber of the senior advocate
• Viva-voce test along with written examination. For law students, courts and chambers of
advocates are the places of pragmatic learning. Indeed, clinical legal education is an
inducement in this direction and a great step for preparing lawyers of tomorrow.
Thus, as per the instruction of Bar Council of India, Faculty of Law, The Maharaja Sayajirao
University of Baroda has introduced Moot Court as a compulsory subject for the students pursuing
Three Year Law Course and also for the students pursuing Five Year Law Course with the sole object
to provide professional knowledge to law students.
At the Faculty of Law, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, learning by doing has been part
of legal education since its very beginning. In furtherance of the instruction of Bar Council of India,
Faculty of Law has made all the infra structural arrangements for the moot court. The Faculty of Law
has a separate state - of - art Moot Court Hall wherein students participate in inter-school and intra
moot court competitions. The moot court hall at Faculty of Law has been designed to give the best
experience to the students of the workings of a real courtroom. It is well equipped with features like
a Judge’s Bench, Witness Box, modern audio-video aids etc. It is a fully air-conditioned hall with Wi-
Fi facility and adequate seating arrangement for both the participants in a moot and observers.
The Moot Court Committee organises intra-class moot court competition for selection of teams.
These teams are then trained and given the opportunity to participate in various National and
International level moot court competitions. Numerous teams have represented the Faculty and
have brought laurels to the University.

Infrastructure Facilities
The Faculty of Law annually organises National Law Fest 'Lux Et Veritas' which comprises National
Moot Court Competition, National Client Counseling Competition, National Drafting Competition,
National Quiz Competition and National Judgement Writing Competition wherein students from all
parts of the country representing prestigious law schools participate. The final round of the National
Moot Court competition is judged by the sitting Judges of High Court of Gujarat.
Auditoriums
The Faculty has two State of Art Auditoriums. Auditorium of Faculty of Law, The Maharaja Sayajirao
University of Baroda is the preferred venue for most events, be they lectures, academic seminars,
conferences, workshops, discussions, film screening, or other extra-curricular activities. Cheerfully
furnished and air-conditioned, the auditorium is well maintained at all times. With windows opening
into a long private corridor that has recently been renovated and integrated with it to provide buffer
space, the auditorium can be suffused by natural light or submerged in appropriate levels of
darkness required by pulling down blinds. An extra exit door has been added to lead out audience
into an adjacent arcade and sprawling student activity area lawns instead of the main college foyer
for any post event discussion or hospitality.
The Auditorium has a seating capacity of 100. It has a high quality sound system, wall mounted
speakers, conference table mikes, roving mikes, lapel microphone, provision for recording; roof
mounted high luminosity projection system.
Legal Aid Clinic was established in the Faculty of Law with an intent to provide legal aid to the needy
persons. Nobody should be deprived of his right to get justice, because of economic, social or other
disability. Keeping in mind this view, the Faculty of Law had started a Legal Aid Clinic to provide
necessary legal assistance. This will help the deprived class of society whose rights are infringed.
Legal Aid Clinic provides its services face to face as well as by organizing legal awareness programs
in remote areas, so that the general public will be sensitised about their rights and in case of its
breach what are the remedies available to them. Legal Aid Clinic is also helping the jail inmates by
making them aware about their rights by visiting prison and providing legal advice.
Several programs are being organized in coordination with District Legal Service Authority and
NGO’s. Legal awareness campaigns are also organized in coordination with NGO’s. It is the endeavor
of the Legal Aid Clinic to provide its best legal advice to ensure social justice to the poor and needy.

The theme of first edition of Vox Legis speaks about the revival of mankind, as a metaphor for the
socio-legal issues prevalent in the society, in "Code Blue" followed by the journey of the man in 'En
Route' and existing beyond a physical level with 'Transcendence' and the Fourth edition's theme
was 'Cogitate “. But that's not all that Vox Legis is, it is ever growing.
During the Pandemic, the Faculty moved to a new format. The manifesto was wrought to
disseminate informed opinions of our authors in the form of blogs. The purpose of this blog is to

Alumni Speaks …
“The concept "transform, reform and perform" has been the guiding principle for me and all
generations of law students who had the occasion to be associated with this monastery of law.
Every student here is encouraged and inspired to achieve respectable status emerging from his/her
sustained dedication and exploring best of his potential”’.
“I have been a student of this faculty from 1973 to 1976 and for more than 35 years I'm associated
with the law faculty as a visiting faculty. This college has become like a family to me. The professors
then and now are truly indulged in providing the best education to the students. This faculty has
provided some of the finest High Court Judges and judicial officers as well as lawyers.I'm grateful to
be a part of this faculty”.
The Faculty has an immense track record of giving luminaries to the legal fraternity which inspired
me to join. After I joined the 5 years BALLB course at Baroda School of Legal Studies, a part of the
Faculty, I realized and experienced the committed involvement on every point and milestone which
was put in by the faculties in the nurturing of each student into ‘Lawman’. Apart from the academics,
the infrastructure, internships and co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are such which add a
lot to the learning of law at Faculty of Law.
“The Faculty of Law is a place which values and nurtures the ability of its students. Through the
opportunities presented by the faculty, I was able to achieve the position I am in today. It is my
pleasure to be an alumni of the esteemed Faculty of Law, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of
Baroda”.
“I am so grateful to be a part of the first batch of the Baroda School of Legal Studies ( B.S.L.S)., the
Faculty of law, The MSU, Baroda. There are so many opportunities to develop one's own personality
in any field like academics, culture, sports, literature and many more. The best part of theB.S.L.S.is
that they provide internships in different law sectors like in judiciary with different court levels, with
leading lawyers of the town, law firms, NGOS and in the corporate sector too , so that students can
understand and create their area of interest for future perspective. Apart from college life, living in a
hostel is like learning to live your life in your own way. Life in a hostel makes a student self
independent. I am so much thankful to all the faculty members, visiting faculties and staff members
of the BSLS for their guidance and cooperation during those days. Thank you.”
Sagar Parikh, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Additional Senior Civil Judge
37
“One of the very first integrated law schools of Gujarat, its approach towards it's students has
been always responsive to the needs and challenges of the profession in 21st century. Every day
of my student life in BSLS has been truly a learning experience.”
Raj Mehta, Senior Executive - Legal, L&T Technology Services Ltd., Vadodara.
At the outset I am grateful to this institution for giving me a platform to express my gratitude
towards what I am today. This is the faculty where I have grown as a student, person, professional
and Lecturer in the span of Eight years. This faculty has inspired me to become a better version of
myself. As we know sapling needs proper care and attention for growing into a fruitful tree, the
same way I and many more were provided such extra care and attention by all faculty members....
Whatever in this short span I have achieved, it is because of the teachings and practical
knowledge provided by the Faculty. It is only because of this pious institution and it's faculty
members, I have rediscovered myself as a better person. This faculty has achieved heights in
imparting quality education with prime focus on holistic learning and inculcating competitive
abilities in students like me. Like many others I am proud to be it's alumnus. I hope and pray, the
faculty will create many more young Lawyers, Judges, Jurists Professionals and Academicians.
I am amongst the few who have been privileged to be part of the esteemed Faculty of Law of our
great MS University of Baroda. The journey turned memorable and rewarding when the education
was imparted by knowledgable, affectionate and veteran professors of the faculty. Their
consistent guidance and involvement assisted the students to create strong foundation for their
future success and growth. As a result of such dedication, a large number of students, from the
faculty, are shining at various places in the field of law such as practise, judiciary, university,
corporates etc. It is noteworthy to mention that almost each of us can never forget the best and
lifetime memories of thoughtful interactions with our professors, seminars, moot courts and many
more experiences as a law student. I wish to state that our flagship Faculty of Law has created
new avenues of success for all the committed law students. Thank you! Best Wishes and Sincere
Gratitude for my Faculty of Law!
