GENERAL RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS

The fest is open to all CBSE and ICSE schools in the Udupi
region.
Only one team per school is allowed for each event.
A student may participate in only one event.
Two teachers may accompany the participants.
Cultural events will be conducted on December 2nd,
followed by the valedictory.
Registration should be completed by November 15, 2023.
Participating schools must possess a school permission
letter, school ID cards, and produce them when necessary.
Students must strictly adhere to the timings and
instructions provided by the organizers.
Any kind of misbehavior shall be viewed seriously and may
result in disqualification.
The judges' decision will be final.

TIME SCHEDULE
8:30 am to 9:00 am Registration and Breakfast
9:00 am to 9:30 am Inaugural Ceremony
9:30 am to 12:30 pm Competitions
12:30 pm to 1:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Competitions

RULES AND REGULATIONS

JUNIOR CATEGORY(STD. VI - VIII)

KOLATA
Each team consists of a maximum of 8 participants.
The time allotted for the competition is 1+4 minutes, with 1
minute for stage preparation and 4 minutes for the
performance.
The song should be taken from Indian songs, which can be
of any regional language.
Jade kolata is not allowed.
Props such as fire, light, glass, powder and water are
prohibited.
The song /audio track must be brought on a separate pen
drive, which contains only the required audio track.
Performance will be judged based on choreography,
costume, and make up, technical skills, props, creativity,
and overall presentation.

BEST OUT OF WASTE


Each team consists of two participants.
Participants will be given 1 hour 30 minutes to showcase
their creativity.
Participants should bring the required waste materials and
stationery for the competition.
The material will be rejected if it is not identified as a waste
product.
Judgement will be based on creativity, utilization of
resource, artistic composition and design, ecofriendly rating
and over all presentation.
FANCY DRESS
Only individual entries are permitted.
Maximum time on stage is 2 minutes.
Background music will not be allowed.
Judging criteria will be based on costume, expression and
over all presentation.
Face-covering mask and use of hazardous materials are not
allowed.

CLAY MODELING
Only individual entries are permitted.
The time limit is 2 hours.
All the work will be done by the participants on the spot.
Natural clay must be used by the participants.
Participants are expected to bring their own required
materials.
Judgement will be based on presentation, creativity, colour
concept and neatness.

SECONDARY(STD. IX - X)

FILMY FOLK DANCE


Each team consists of a maximum of 8 participants.
The time allotted for the competition is 1+4 minutes, with 1
minute for stage preparation and 4 minutes for the
performance.
Criteria for judging is based on the Choreography, Attire,
Confidence, Flexibility and Coordination.
The dance should represent the culture, traditions and folk
dance style with a modern twist.
No dangerous props are allowed on stage.
Audio clips must be submitted in MP3 format on a pendrive.
The pendrive must only contain the required audio clip.

CLASSICAL DANCE (BHARATANATYAM)


Only individual entries are permitted.
The time limit is 3 minutes.
Criteria for judging is based on Tal, Laya, Expression,
Abhinaya, Footwork, Costume and General Impression.
Audio clips must be submitted in MP3 format on a pendrive.
The pendrive must only contain the required audio clip.

BHAAVA GEETHEY (KANNADA)


Only individual entries are permitted.
The time limit is 3 minutes.
Criteria for judging is based on Voice Modulation, Rhythm,
Clarity Pitch and the overall presentation.
No electrical instruments are to be used.
The Movie version of the song is not permitted.
There will be negative marking for exceeding the time limit.
RANGOLI
Each team consists of two participants.
The time limit is 1 hour.
The maximum size of the area allotted to each team is 3’ by
3’.
Criteria for judging is based on the Creativity, Symmetry,
Color Scheme, Use of Space and the overall presentation.
No use of any type of paint, including poster, oil, or water-
based, is allowed.
No props are to be used.
Participants must carry all necessary equipment, tools and
materials to achieve their designs.

FACE PAINTING
Each team consists of two participants – an artist and a
model.
The time limit is 1 hour.
The theme for the face painting will be provided on the spot,
allowing participants to showcase their spontaneous
creativity.
Criteria for judging is based on the Creativity, Innovation,
Neatness and the Artistic Skill demonstrated.
Participants need to have clarity about the idea of the
chosen art.
Participants must carry all necessary equipment and tools to
achieve their designs.

SENIOR SECONDARY(STD. XI - XII)

SOAP CARVING
Only individual entries are permitted.
The time limit is 1 hour.
Two Soaps will be provided, but participants need to bring
any other required tools for carving.
Participants are not allowed to refer to any designs.
Model will be in the theme of fruits or flowers.
Participants will be judged based on creativity.
The decision of the judges will be final.

FACE PAINTING
Each team consists of two participants – an artist and a
model.
The time limit for the competition is 1 hour, so participants
should manage their time effectively.
The theme for the face painting will be provided on the spot,
allowing participants to showcase their spontaneous
creativity.
Participants are responsible for bringing all the necessary
items and tools required for face painting.
The judgement will be based on creativity and originality
depicting the given theme, along with the overall
presentation based on the theme.
The decision of the judges will be final and cannot be
disputed, any misbehavior will lead to disqualification.
VARIETY ENTERTAINMENT
Each team will consist of a minimum of 8 participants and
maximum of 10 participants.
Every team will be allotted 10 minutes for their performance
and an additional 2 minutes for stage setting.
Teams are encouraged to showcase as many items as
possible within the allocated time.
Teams can choose any theme of their interest for their
performance.
The judgement will be based on the criteria such as –
number of varieties, theme, emcee (MC), coordination,
overall performance.
Vulgarity in any form, whether in words or actions that may
hurt the sentiments of any religion/caste/gender is strictly
prohibited; Non-compliance will result in immediate
disqualification of the team.
Audio clips intended for the performance should be
submitted on a pen drive before the event commences.
Groups are responsible for making their own arrangements
for any electronic gadgets.
The use of any flammable elements, fire, or water is strictly
prohibited.
The judges' decision will be final and binding, and any kind
of misbehavior will result in disqualification.
