Sub:- Representation to install FOG Pass Device in locomotive.

Sir,
Respectfully, AILRSA, E. C. Railway very much thankful to you for your kind
consideration of our plight and thereon issuing instruction to provide loco tools in
locomotive.
Sir, like loco tools FOG Pass Device can also be installed in the locomotive by which
it will reduce extra expenditure incurred for charging, issuing and receiving. Sir, ALPs of Indian
Railway are trained equally at par with Loco Pilots and also taking the responsibility at par
with Loco Pilots. It is quite indigestible to advice them to carry FOG Pass Device on one hand
torch, umbrella water bottle bag on other hand and personal belongings on their back. This
type of work load not only affect their efficiency but also demoralise them mentally. Day to
day load are imparted on ALPs in the name of staff curtailment, which panicked them and are
leaving this job in search of better option.
Sir, Motorman is a single man drive job, who also carries loco keys, Detonators, ,TSD
on one hand personal belongings on his back and FOG Pass Device on the other hand
creating uneasy and over burden on motorman. Further where multiple lines are there it is
not possible to reset the same as per the concerning line in mid section and failure to reset
may misguide the motorman.
Detonators are having 5 years expiry so, putting them once may not create any
problem for five years and can be easily provided along with other tools in the locomotive.
Sir, it is our humble submission that till the installation of FSD in
Locomotives/EMU/MEMU/DMU kindly arrange to hand over FSD to Loco running Staff at
Station Platform/Yard at the time of Train departure and collect the same At arrival at
destination by Operating department /out sourcing staff.
Therefore, AILRSA, S.E.Railway request you to take necessary step for the Provision
of detonator and installation of FOG Pass device in Locomotive for Permanent solution.
