MII Scope and Configuration Setup Detail

Machine integrated intelligence

Shop floor > production floor

Each system has separate structure to operate with MII and shop floor extension to MES

The integration Concept of between production floor and ERP

 Synchronization
 Data type
 XML and ERP are the two main components

MII Framework is webserver, caused rapidly data function


Platform Net weaver, Java
Database: Hana, MySQL etc

Technical Process
1. Configure the ALE for communication with SAP OEE (see Customizing for ALE for
Communication with SAP OEE).

2. Execute the OEE CTCs. (see CTCs for OEE)

3. You send the OEE-relevant IDocs from SAP ERP to ERP-Shop Floor Integration framework
(see OEE IDoc Selection).

4. The IDocs are received by the IDoc message listener configured in SAP NetWeaver by the
SAP OEE Integration Configuration CTC. The IDocs are processed as per the standard
work flow. For more information, see SAP MII Configurations for ERP-Shop Floor
Integration.

Important PCo Configuration Objects

 Agent Instances (Controlling the data flow, component of PCo)


 Sources System (Data called from queries)
 Destination System ( data information system)

Configuration steps of plant information Maintenance

 Navigate to Configuration Management -> Infrastructure -> Application
 Enter RFC listener
 Select Resource name, type and adapter

Configuring Connections in SAP MII


For JCo

1. Logon to the SAP MII system using <Server Protocol>://<MI


Servername>:<port>/XMII/Menu.jsp.

2. Choose Data Services Connections.

3. From the System Connections tab, choose Create.

The Connections — Create screen appears.

4. Enter a name and select JCo from the Connection Type field.

5. Choose OK.

The Details section appears.

6. Enter the following in the Settings tab.

 Description:

 Server: Hostname of the SAP system

 Client: Client within the system that you want to access

 System: Instance number for the SAP system

 Pool Size: session timeout

Note
Default value is 10.
 SSO: True/False (Check the checkbox if SSO is required and also maintain the
credentials using Credential Alias screen in SAP MII for the SAP system)

 Language:

7. Choose Save.

Creating Users for SAP MII

1. Logon to the SAP MII system http://<MII servername>:<port>/nwa.

2. Logon to the Netweaver Administration (nwa) by providing valid credentials.

3. Choose Configuration tab Identity Management Create User.

4. Choose General Information Details and enter the details.

5. On the Assigned Roles tab, enter *MII* in the Search Criteria field.

6. Choose Go.

7. Select the roles to be assigned to the current user and choose Add.

8. Choose Save.

RFC Listener ( A server recives data from another server)

Configuring a RFC Listener in SAP MII

1. Logon to SAP MII system.


2. Choose Message Services Message Listeners .
3. Select any message listener and choose Edit.
4. Select Use Legacy.
5. Save and choose Update.
6. On the Configuration tab, check for SAP Server and client name.
Creating an RFC Destination
1. Logon to the SAP ERP system.

2. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Tools Administration → Network RFC Destinations.

3. Select TCP/IP connections.

4. Choose Create.

5. Enter the following:

 RFC Destination: Any value

 Connection Type: T

 Description 1: Any MII IDoc Listener

6. On the Technical Settings tab, choose Registered Server Program.

7. Enter the same name that is in the RFC Destination field in the Program ID field.

8. In the Gateway Options column, enter the gateway host name and service. To enter the
gateway details, you need to know the SAP system application server name and SAP system
number. To find these, do the following:

a. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Tools Administration Monitor System
Monitoring Gateway Monitor.

b. Choose Go To Parameters Display.

The gateway hostname field contains the gateway host value and the gateway
service field contains the gateway service value.

9. On the MDMP & Unicode tab, choose Unicode radio button.

10. Choose Save.


Connection of MII to SAP

 Enter credentials
 On the sap MII administration menu Choose data service, data server
 On data server screen we have to create itself
 Further following detail as per requirement
 Next we enter the credentials of PCo and then okay
 Choose one PCo
 and Enabled

Testing the RFC Destination

1. Verify that the SAP ECC system connection is successful. Use the following steps:
2. Go to Transaction SM59
3. Open the TCP/IP connections folder.
4. Select the RFC Destination you previously created (XMIISRFC01 or XMIIRFC01).
5. Click on the Connection Test.
6. If the ECC server can successfully connect to the SAP MII RFC Listener, it will display
connection information as shown. If you receive an error message, review the steps for
creating an RFC Destination and creating and MII Listener to verify your settings.

Configuring SAP MII Dataservers


1. Logon to the SAP MII system using <Server Protocol>://<MI
Servername>:<port>/XMII/Menu.jsp.

2. Enter valid credentials.

3. On the SAP MII administration menu, choose Data Services Data


Servers.

4. On the Data Services screen, choose Create.

The SAP MII: Data Servers screen appears.

5. Enter the following details:


 Server Name:

 Connector Type: PCo Connector

 Description: Description for the sevrer.

6. Choose Next.

7. Enter the URL of the Pco instance as <Server Protocol>://<PCo


Servername>:<port>/PCo Management or use the registered Pco instance.

For using the registered Pco instance, browse to choose the instance
and choose Next.

8. Enter credentials for the Pco server and choose OK.

9. Choose one PCo Agent and choose Finish.

10. Select the Enabled.

11. Choose Save.
