Instructions for Teachers
● Before you start the class, cover the Virtual Board (Google Jamboard, Zoom whiteboard, Miro) with facts/information about yourself. The
type and amount of information you write will depend on the level of your class.

● Tell the class that on the board is information about yourself.

● Divide the class into 2 teams : A and B
● Explain that the aim of the game is for teams to choose a number and ask a question that they think matches with the answer on the
board.
● Tell the students that for some answers many questions may be possible, but only one question is correct.
● Teams first are assigned to Breakout Rooms (BRs) to brainstorm the questions then take it in turns to choose a number and ask a
question.
● Teams score one point for the correct question and one point for using the correct grammar.
● Enforce that Students have to use English only in their BRs.
● Keep your instructions concise to check their understanding. Consider Modeling the activity.
● Bring Ss back in the main room (MR) and let them ask you the questions.
● The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Example dialogue

Team B: Number 2 again. What color are your eyes?
GTKY activities
for your
unassessed
lessons
A - My life in 5 sentences
Write five sentences on the board in a random order about interesting things you have
done in your life. Then, write some sequence words on the board, e.g. first, second,
then, after that, finally. Students then guess the correct order of the five sentences
using the sequence words on the board until someone gives you the right order.
Next, tell the students to write five sentences in a random order about interesting things
they have done, avoiding sentences where the chronological order is obvious. When the
students have finished, divide them into pairs. Students then read their partner's
sentences and try to put them in the right order using sequence words. If the order is
wrong, the student tries again until they get it right. Students repeat this process with
several partners.
B - Lost in Space
● Ask the students to imagine that they are living in a space station. All of a sudden, the space station
malfunctions and they have to evacuate. They are only allowed to take 5 items with them. Which
items would they choose?
● Ask students to think and share their answers in the chat box
● Put Ss in BRs so that they can ask questions about each other’s lists of 5 things. Enforce that they
must use English only.
● Bring Ss back and ask them what they learnt about their partners.
● Finally, wrap up and introduce the next teacher.
C - Web Search hobbies
● Send through the chat box 2-3 web links that reflect your hobby or personality. Tell students to visit
the weblinks and guess what your hobbies are or what person are you?
● Encourage Ss to ask you clarifying questions and put the information they guess on the board. Next,
help learners to summarize the information by introducing the teacher:
E. g. This is my teacher… She likes… Her hobby is… She is…

● Tell students to generate 2-3 links that reflect their hobbies or personality.
● Put Ss in BRs so that they can share the links, guess facts about their partners and ask
questions . Enforce that they must use English only.
● Bring Ss back to the MR and ask them what they learnt about their partners.
● Finally, wrap up and set the homework if any.
D - 4 squares
Draw or add a picture to 4 squares that best describe yourself. (e.g. a picture of a dog because you are
playful. Or a picture of a ball because you are energetic)
Others have to guess what the image represents about you and your life.
E - What makes you happy?
Write down 10 things that make you happy.
Share with a partner/ small group why these things make you happy.
Now discuss the categories you have in common that make you all happy.

Identify the main categories and be ready to explain why this category is important to happiness.
