Contracts:
Rookie contracts: Rookie contracts (and, in Year 1, contracts from the initial draft) will be for 3 years
with no contract inflation.
Free agent contracts: Any player picked up in the Free Agent draft or Waiver bidding are signed to 1 year
contracts.
Veteran Contracts: At the end of the Rookie or Free Agent Contract years, contracts may be extended,
up to an additional 5 years. Extension contract value is prior contract plus (10% times the number of
years extended). So 110% for a 1 year extension, 120% for a 2 year extension, 130% for a 3 year
extension, 140% for a 4 year extension, and 150% for a 5 year extension. Minimum escalation of $2 per
year.
Example 1: If Adrian Peterson is owned at $40 under his rookie contract. 10% is $4. So he can be
extended for 1 year at $44. If he is extended 2 years, his price would be $48 in each year. A 5 year
extension would cost $60 in each year of the contract.
Example 2: If Randall Cobb is a $15 player and extended only 1 year, his extension price is $17. If Earl
Bennet is a $5 player, and he's extended for 3 years, his extension price is $11 in each year. A $1 player
extended for 5 years becomes an $11 player.
Franchise players: At the end of a players Veteran Contract term, a team may choose to Franchise one of
their players for that year. Franchise players are priced at the greater of (a) last year contract plus 10%
or (b) the contract value of the average of the 4th to 6th highest paid players at that position in the prior
season. In either case, the minimum increase will be $2.
Example: If at the end of Adrian Peterson's $60 Veteran contract, the owner chooses to Franchise him,
he would cost $66 for that year. However, if the average of the 4th, 5th and 6th highest paid RB the
prior year was $68, the contract would be for $68, not $60. The following year, he can be franchised
again for an additional 10% from the prior years contract (or the average of the 4-6th highest paid RB.)
For the purpose of contract prices, all values rounded down to the nearest whole dollar.
All contract years end March 1. (e.g., If you pick up a player in Week 12, his second contract year begins
March 1, even though he was not on the team an entire year.)
Players on IR do not count against the salary cap.
Exceptions:
* Any player may be dropped without penalty from March 1 until 2 weeks prior to the Free Agent
Auction.
* Rookies (not free agents) may be dropped without penalty during the first year of their rookie
contract.
* During the season, any player cut from an active NFL roster may be cut without penalty
* Any player on IR (who is not eligible to return for the remainder of the season) may be cut without
penalty.
* Any player suspended for the remainder of the season may be cut without penalty.
* Salaries of players moved to IR (who are not eligible to return for the remainder of the season) do not
count against the cap (for that season).
The draft will be held as an email draft with picks entered through the league website with each team
getting no more than 12 hours to make their pick. Only Rookies who were picked in the NFL draft that
year or undrafted free agents that signed with a team are eligible in the Annual Rookie Draft.
Trading is allowed during the draft, including trading of picks for players.
As a result of the rookie draft, teams may be above the cap or have more than 20 players. All teams will
be required to cut their roster and be below the salary cap by 2 weeks before the Free Agent Auction.
Cut Day:
Cut Day is approximately 1 week before the Free Agent Auction. Salary Cap compliant rosters must be
submitted prior to the Cut Day deadline. Following Cut Day, in-season Salary Cap rules and penalties
apply. Players may be traded and/or dropped following Cut Day. If a player is put on season-ending IR
at any time after Cut Day, the player may be placed on the team's IR (i.e. players *remaining* on IR from
the previous season or offseason activities are not eligible for IR).
Penalty for failing to submit an eligible roster by the Cut Day deadline: [TBD]
In-season Waivers:
Any player not currently on an active league roster is a free agent and can be acquired through a waiver
claim (Active NFL players only).
Waivers are blind bidding auction on Thursdays and Sundays at 11am (subject to adjustment for
holidays.)
Waivers will be run once prior to the start of the season following the Free Agent Draft.
The final waiver auction will be before the final week of the regular season (Week 13).
$0 bids are allowed
If your team roster is full and you acquire a player, then you must drop a player. You will not be able to
pick up a player if doing so will exceed the salary cap.
Following the week 13 waivers - all free agents or non-roster players lock until after the free agent
auction.
IR:
Each team may place up to 2 players on the IR if they are designated as full season IR or suspended for
the remainder of the season by the NFL. Free agent pickups and drafted players that are on IR/PUP at
time of pick up cannot be placed in the IR. Players traded while on IR can be placed on the new team's
IR Reserve. Players on IR (who are not designated as "eligible to return") do not count against the salary
cap. Players placed on IR because of suspensions cannot be reinstated (even if they are reinstated by
the league or the suspension is reduced on appeal).
Trade deadline:
In season trade deadline is noon on the Thursday following Week 11 of the NFL season.
Trading:
There is no limit to the number of players a team can trade in a given week. Both teams need to give
approval and list terms of the trade for it to be confirmed. Once approved by the league Commissioner,
the trade will be official. Trade results will be posted on the website. As a trade is approved, the team(s)
rosters will automatically be updated and a transaction record will be listed.
Trade Approval:
If there is a question of collusion or other impropriety regarding a trade (as determined by the
commissioner), it will be submitted to the trade committee for approval. The trade committee will
consist of the commissioner and 2 other team owners. There will be 2 alternates to replace members of
the committee if they are involved in the trade. Any trade rejections must be based on collusion or
other improprieties in the trade process, not a determination of fairness or equality. An owner will be
allowed to enter trades that are detrimental to his current team.
The commissioner reserves the right to set your lineup for you if, in his opinion, you are intentionally
trying to lose games or if you are deemed an absentee owner.
Scheduling:
Divisions are realigned after the end of the season. The four non-playoff teams are in one division. The
champion, the 2 division winners, and the highest point scorer (assuming he made the playoffs) are in
the other division. The remaining teams have an NBA-draft style lottery (n balls for the lowest team, n-1
for the next, ..., 1 ball for the highest team,) based on final (record) standings at the end of the season
for the remaining spot in the non-playoff division.
Teams play each division team twice and each non-division team once. Playoff eligibility is based purely
on final league standing, not on division standing (except division winners get first round byes).
Prizes:
The prize pool will be $1200 per season, divided as follows:
$40 to highest point score of the week for each of Weeks 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13
$550 Champion
$250 Second Place
$100 Third Place
$100 Highest Regular Season Point Total
