GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING PROJECT PROFILES

A. INTRODUCTION

Outline of product and its uses

B. MARKET

1. Give overall market size(s) for the product in the country and present scope/market
potential.
2. Indicate existing production capacity along-with total number of registered small-
scale units manufacturing this product as per Census data published in 1999.

C. BASIS AND PRESUMPTIONS

1. Efficiency and working hours considered for full capacity utilisation.


2. Time period for achieving full/envisaged capacity utilisation.
3. Labour wages.
4. Interest rate for fixed and working capital.
5. Margin money
6. Pack back period of the project.
7. Land cost and construction cost with (or rental value) appropriate details since it
would vary from place to place.

D. IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE

Indicate the time required for completing each activity of the Project till commercial
production is achieved. Time required for preparation of project report, selection of site,
registration as SSI, availability of finances/loan, machinery procurement, erection and
commissioning, trial runs, recruitment of labour etc., with appropriate sequences for the
benefit of entrepreneur may be given.

E. TECHNICAL ASPECTS

1. Process outline-giving details of production/process of manufacturing. Details of


alternate technologies may also be given along with relative advantages.
2. Quality specifications ISS/BIS/Other standard specifications to be followed along
with basic requirements of relevant Standard Specifications of essential
characteristics may be given.
3. Production capacity per annum for each type of technology
a. Quantity
b. Value
4. Approximate motive power requirement of each technology.
5. Pollution control needs/requirements giving details of essential characteristics as
applicable to the product.
6. Energy Conservation needs/requirements giving details of essential features which
need to be considered.
