 Step 01 : Login cce-upes.codetantra.com/login.jsp

i. Open Chrome browser on your Laptop/Desktop

iii. Enter your email-id and password.

iv. Click on Submit button to login

Important Notes
✓ In case of invalid Login id / Password error,
ensure that the logo on the login page is same
as that of your institute, if not, then you are on
wrong login page. Recheck the login link.
✓ You can use Forgot option also to recover your
password
using your registered email-id if you are on
correct login page.
 Step 02 : Visit Tests Page cce-upes.codetantra.com/secure/home.jsp

Click on Tests card to get the list of scheduled exam

Important Notes
You can access Calculator under Tools card to practice usage of
calculator.
If you want to check whether your laptop/desktop is fit to attempt
the test even before the actual exam, then you can follow the
following steps:
✓ Select Tools by scrolling down this page.
✓ Click on Environment Check card, it will redirect you to
Environment Check page.
✓ On this page, you can check whether Microphone, webcam
and sound of your laptop/desktop is working or not to
continue the test by giving the browser necessary permission.
✓ You can also troubleshoot your device also using the help
videos given on this page.
✓ If your laptop/desktop fulfil the necessary requirements,then
you should see a message Environment Check Successful.
 Step 03 : Visit Take Test Page cce-upes.codetantra.com/secure/home.jsp

 Step 04 : Open the Test cce-upes.codetantra.com/secure/home/tests.jsp

i. Click on the Open Test button against the test

you want to attempt as per the availability of
the test.
Do not select Third Eye from the laptop/desktop

Important Notes
✓ You can observe there are two buttons against the first test
in the Status column in the list of scheduled exam.
✓ Students are supposed to select Open Test from the
laptop/desktop while Third Eye should be selected when
student joins the same test though mobile.
 Step 05 : Give the permissions ***************************************************************************

i. You are on the Environment Check page now.

Here, you will be asked to give the permission to
the browser by clicking on Allow button for
Location, Microphone, Camera access
consecutively.

 Step 06 : Check the Audio ***************************************************************************

i. Click on Click here to check audio button

ii. Click on Play button.
iii. Click Yes if you can hear the audio.

Important Notes
✓ If you cannot hear the audio, make sure volume level of
your laptop/desktop is up. i
✓ You can also ensure if there is any working speaker is
attached with the laptop/desktop or not.
 Step 07 : Proceed to test ***************************************************************************

i. If environment check is successful, then you

should see a button with a name Proceed to test
ii. Click on Proceed to test button to go to the next
step

Important Notes
✓ In case, you are not able to complete the Environment
Check step, you can troubleshoot your device.
✓ System will automatically show the troubleshoot video link
based on the error.
✓ Either disable or uninstall if there is any antivirus software
installed in your PC in case you are having trouble with
your webcam or microphone on this page.
✓ If you are not able to troubleshoot the device, then you can
change the device.
✓ Make sure download manager is disabled if there is any
installed in the PC such as IDM.

i. Wait for few seconds here on this page and let

the system automatically creates a meeting
room to connect you with your proctor.
ii. Once, meeting room is created, system will ask
you to connect into the same test through 3rd
Eye.
 Step 08 : Join Test with 3rd Eye ***************************************************************************

It is time to start the same test from Mobile now as

3rd Eye.

Please join video from third eye to proceed further, you will get
automatically unblocked after connecting with third eye. The system
might take a few seconds to detect this. Make sure to login into cce-
upes.codetantra.com/login.jsp in the mobile to open 3rd Eye.
Please do not search for CodeTantra from your mobile. Open
Chrome/Safari browser app in your mobile and type the above
mentioned website address

 Step 09 : Open a browser

i. Open a supported browser in your phone. Either of the

following 3 combination should work fine;
✓ Chrome (Version 90+) on Android
✓ Edge (Version 90+) on Android
✓ Safari (Version 13.6+) on iOS
ii. Visit the following link:

Step 10 : Login to the portal

i. Enter your email-id and password.

ii. Click on Submit button to login

Click on Tests card to get the list of scheduled exam

Click on Take Tests card to get the list of scheduled exam

Step 13 : Join with 3rd Eye

Click on the Third Eye button against the test you want to
attempt as per the availability of the test.
Do not select Open Test from Mobile.

Step 14 : Allowing Permission

You will be asked to Allow the camera to be used by the

browser (Chrome/Safari). Click on Allow.

Step 15 : Position the 3rd Eye

i. Click on the green color Chat icon.

ii. You will be able to see yourself through the front
camera.
iii. It is the time to place the mobile on the table which will
be acting as 3rd Eye.
 Step 16 : Important Setting in Mobile

i. Make Sure to turn on Auto-Rotate mode.

ii. Make sure to turn on Do Not Disturb Mode.
 Step 17 : Placing the 3rd Eye

i. Place your mobile (3rd Eye) on the table in such a way, where front camera can
capture your laptop screen, hands, face, upper part of the body.
ii. Please observe, in the leftmost image, candidate, laptop, hands and upper body is
completely visible.
iii. You will be guided by the proctor to further rectify your 3rd Eye view if needed.

 Step 18 : Start the Test ***************************************************************************

i. Once the 3rd eye is connected, you be able to

see a Start Test button automatically.
ii. Click on the Start Test Button to start the test.

Important Notes
✓ It takes a few seconds to get the Start Test button on
laptop after you connect to the 3rd Eye (2nd device). Please
be patient.
 Step 19 : Answer MCQ questions ***************************************************************************

i. You can answer the questions now by

the selecting the right answer and by
pressing the Next button for MCQ type
questions.

Important Notes
✓ It takes few seconds to get the Start Test
button on laptop after you connect to the 3rd
device. Please be patient.

Step 20 : Answering subjective questions

i. You can use the scrollbar to scroll through the

questions.
ii. Answer all the questions on A4 sheets as per
instructions mentioned in the paper.

on the paper then you can use your mobile to
take pictures of your answer sheets and upload
it.
iv. You can click on Click to expand/minimize button
to hide the questions.

i. You can observe that questions have been
minimized by clicking on

ii. The questions can be brought back on the
screen by clicking on the same button.

iii. Now, it is time to use the mobile phone to

upload the images of answer sheets.

Step 21 : Initiating the capture

i. Click on Scan & Upload button to go to the capture page.

ii. Click on the Camera icon to start the camera to click the
images of the answer sheets. This will open the camera
app on your phone.

Important Notes
✓ Click on Low Memory Camera only if you get error of low memory
✓ If you have written 10 pages, then you must click images of all those
10 images one after another and then you should click on upload
button.
 Step 22 : Capturing the first image

i. Focus your camera onto the answer sheets that you want
to capture and then click on capture button.
ii. Check the Preview of captured image then click on (A) ok
icon to continue if satisfied with the image otherwise
click on (B) cross icon and get ready to take another
picture.

i. You can observe in the leftmost picture that Preview(1) is
mentioned now which indicates that 1 picture is clicked
and can be previewed.
ii. Same way, you can keep clicking the images of your
answer sheets one after another by clicking on the
Camera button until you capture images of all of your
answer sheets.
 Step 23 : Capturing remaining images

I. Click on the Camera icon again as shown in previous step

to capture image of 2nd page of the answer sheets, focus
on the 2nd sheet and click on capture button.
II. Click on the Camera icon again as shown in previous step
to capture image of 3rd page of the answer sheets, focus
on the 3rd sheet and click on capture button.

 Step 24 : Uploading the captured Images

I. Click on Upload button to upload all the images

automatically. You can observe, we are clicking on the
Upload button after clicking all the images of answer
sheets, in this case 3.
II. Click on the Upload button again in the confirmation
Dialogue box to confirm.
 Verifying the upload.

I. After successfully uploading images, a message will

appear as shown in the image.

Step 25 : Syncing the Uploaded Images

i. Click on Sync button to sync the uploaded

answer-sheets through mobile to Laptop Screen.

Verifying the Uploads

i. You can observe that after clicking on sync

button, the details of uploaded images are
visible with preview and Remove button.
ii. You can click on preview button to preview the
uploaded answer sheets.
iii. You can click on Remove button to remove the
uploaded images and repeat the same steps
from mobile to upload the new sets of images.
Exploring
other options
available on
the portal
 Chat with Proctor ***************************************************************************

i. Select on Green color chat icon.
ii. Click on Profile icon.
iii. Click on Chat icon, which will open chat panel. ii
iv. Type the message in the chat box and click on
Send.

 Viewing the General Instructions ***************************************************************************

i. Click on General Instructions button to open

instruction panel.
ii. Click on close after viewing the Instructions
 Zooming in/out ***************************************************************************

i. You can resize the text on the portal by clicking

on – and + button.
 Sending the SOS ***************************************************************************

i. You can ask for the emergency help by clicking

on the SOS button.
ii. Fill in your mobile number and describe your
problem and then Submit.
 Finishing the test ***************************************************************************

i. On the last question of the test, Next button is

disabled.
ii. To finish the test, click on the Finish Button.
iii. A test Summary will appear, after verifying the
Summary, you can click on Yes, I want to Finish
and Exit.
