Choose one topic and write at least five sentences.

• Describe one of the following natural disasters and its effects: flood, tornado, landslide, drought, or typhoon
(hurricane).

• What are some ways that people can prepare for an emergency?

Typhoons, powerful storms that form over warm ocean waters, can wreak havoc on coastal
regions.

With strong winds and heavy rainfall, they can cause widespread destruction, including flooding,
landslides, and power outages.

The storm surge, a wall of water pushed ashore by the typhoon, can inundate coastal
communities, leading to significant loss of life and property.

Typhoon victims often face displacement, food shortages, and waterborne diseases in the
aftermath of these storms.
