Where to Find Clients as a Newbie Freelancer

A Word of Warning From Sensei Raf

Dear reader,

You hold in your hands right now a helpful guide that will help you land
your first client (or even two).

A word of warning though:

If you want a high chance to close a client within 30 days, do

not share this PDF with anyone else.

If you think you’d be helping someone out by sharing this pdf with your
colleagues, think again. You’d only be contributing to making it hard for
you to get hired due to a rise in competition…

(Economics 101: The Law of Supply & Demand)

Sure, you might say: “Eh, Sensei, sa isa ko lang naman isshare eh!”

Sige, pero sa ilan isshare ng shinare-an mo? :)

As soon as thousands of Freelancers like you get

access to this roadmap, good luck nalang huhu

(This is also the reason why I’m not giving this

to just anyone!)

Ayoko kasi mahirapan ka in the next 30 days

of your freelancing journey!

To your success,
Raf “Sensei” Marabut

P.S. I honestly have nothing to lose if more

people get their hands on this…

… but you do.

UPWORK (https://www.upwork.com/)

Upwork, formerly O-desk and Elance, is a recommended job board site for
newbies. Upwork is easy to navigate and is widely used by clients &
freelancers alike.

The only downside to Upwork is that it charges freelancers a service fee

based on their invoiced earnings.

ONLINEJOBS.PH (https://www.onlinejobs.ph/)

Similar to Upwork, OLJ is a job board site specifically designed for pinoy
freelancers. However, unlike most job boards, it doesn’t charge freelancers
anything!

FIVERR (https://www.fiverr.com/)

Fiverr is a relatively new job marketplace where Freelancers can sell their
services, it might not be as popular as UPWORK or OLJ, but it’s still a
relevant platform for freelancers to showcase their services to potential
clients. Fiverr deducts 20% from the total earnings made.

FREEUP (https://freeup.net/)

FreeUp is another relatively new job board site that is growing in popularity
amongst freelancers as well. FreeUp charges freelancers a fee, similar to
Fiverr & Upwork, specifically, 15% of the total earnings made.

LINKEDIN (https://www.linkedin.com/)

Linkedin can help you grow your network as a freelancer and get
connected with potential clients. It is highly recommended that you
connect with any future clients on LinkedIn—doing so increases the
chances of getting noticed by potential clients.

REDDIT (https://www.reddit.com/)

Reddit, although not a job board nor marketplace, has several threads
where you can post your services or look for clients/fellow freelancers who
are looking to outsource their tasks—just be sure to follow the community
guidelines, refusing to do so could result in you getting banned
permanently.

FREELANCING NETWORK

As a freelancer, your network is important, aside from LinkedIn, it is also

encouraged that you join reputable communities or groups that connect
you with fellow freelancers and can help you expand your
connections—referrals from past clients & vouches from peers increase the
chances of getting hired and seasoned freelancers who handle multiple
clients often outsource tasks.

Moreover, being part of an exclusive community also adds to your

credibility and gives you an ‘unfair’ advantage.
