This Report will emphasis on the IT
Infrastructure for Emora’s fashion design
which will assist in the update and
improvement of there company. However,
As already stated in the introduction that it
provides qualified training to clients who
are interested in there provisions.

Customers on the other hand have brought

duration of receiving there ordered
products as well as making limited orders
which has affected the effectiveness of the
companies profits. They also had
inconvenient network performance with
there devices thus Desktops, Mobile
phones, Printers etc.

Currently the System needs are online

orders or payments, Online lessons,
Disabled users should be able to apply and
learn on the fashion design qualifications.
The system should also be secured for
clients in terms of password inputs thus
providing more than one password(2).

There old system has minimal RAM as well

as slow running CPUs which brings about
slow performance to there computers.
However, a poor system integration
occurred inclusive of the hardware and
software. Graphic capability on the other
hand has also been an issue to the system
thus monitors.

With a few remarks, the new system will be

recommended to have a number of
functionalities which will make possible
online orders, online training to students
inline with fashion designing and most
especially it should be usable as well as
accessible.

Importance of CPU type ( single/multi-
core),RAM and Disk space

In the realm of computing, Single core and

multi core processors comprise of
significant requirements and strengths.
However,

CPU’s are mainly the leafing factor for
which is calculated according to the
number of cores available. Normally, single
cores use less power as compared to
multi-cores since only one application
operates at once. Single-cores are more
cheaply than multi core systems therefore
they are used .(Wikipedia, 2024)

It is basically an integrated circuit with
several processors which generates faster
simultaneous processing tasks, they
produce less power consumption and for a
better performance of the

plays a big role in the speed and
performance of the system as it varies
from DDR1 to DDR5 in terms of
generation. It also allows you to perform
several tasks such as loading applications,
Spreadsheets .e.t.c. As RAM also has
several types, Dynamic RAM(DRAM) stores
each bit of data in a separate capacitor
while a Static RAM (SRAM) is used to
provide access to used instructions and
data as it stores each bit using a flip-flop
circuit. RAM also works hand in hand with
the CPU its self, in this case if the CPU has
a lot of tasks to handle, it will require
supported RAM with more space to hold

in terms of storage capacity, hard drive or
discs are used to store information as well
as data files which are recommended by
the computer. The hard drive also stores
the operating system which tells the
computer what to do according to the
commands provided by the user which are
inserted through clicks and keystores.

How disk space can be managed or

organized
 Storage Upgrade – This can mainly
involve replacement of the previous Hard
Disk Drive(HDD) with a Solid State
Drive(SSD) thus to improve storage
performance.
 File Management – This will involve
placing of files in a sequential order to
manage the storage space. It will
normally assist to find, access and
backup files by using tools such as google
 drive, OneDrive to store file or
documents online.
 Eliminating Temporary/Unnecessary
files – Temporary files normally cause
slow performance to the computer since
the unnecessary files take up space
hence a disk cleanup tool can be
introduced to eliminate or delete recycle
bin files cache files as well as temporary
files as a result, the space is freed up.
 Compressing your Files – It involves,
minimizing large files that are rarely
used, built-tools can be used to compress
your files on operating system. For
instance, on Windows, you can use NTFS
compression features to compress your
files, whiles on Mac, you can use archive
utility to do the same. In addition, you

or 7-Zip)to compress your files.

TASK 2 : WINDOWS INSTALLATION

2.1 PART A: Windows installation

2.1.1 Introduction
Computers alone are advantageous in
making work easier and faster but at the
same time the computer hardware needs
an operating system which relays
instructions to the user. As well operating
systems include devices drivers which act as
a communication interface between
computer hardware devices and software
applications thus inclusive to interactions
with peripherals and external storage
devices. This section will describe step-by-
step installation of windows 10 , Antivirus
Kaspersky, Office software and Free utility
software.

2.1.2 Windows Installation

Windows 10 was selected due to its high
graphical features with the version of kernel
version. The following are the hardware
requirements which are to be met;

RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or

2 GB for 64-bit
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or
faster processor or SoC
Graphics Card:DirectX 9 or later
with WDDM 1.0 driver
Hard Disk Space: 16 GB for 32 or 2 GB for
64 -Bit
 Display: 800 x 600

2.1.3 Key stages in installation of

windows

Part 1: Creation of an installation drive or

disk
1 Connect a blank USB flash drive or
insert a blank writable DVD. To get
Started, You’ll will need a USB flash
drive that that is at least 8 GB or a
blank DVD.
2 Make sure you have your product Key.
You’ll have about 25-Characters of
your product key if you bought
windows 10 from a retailer which will
 later on come in handy to activate
windows.

However, If you don’t have a product key,

you can rather head to the >Settings >
Update & Security >Activation, If it shows
that windows is activated with a digital
license, then click Add an Account as shown
above.
3 You Go to
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softwa
re-download/windows10%20. This is the
official site for windows 10.
4 Click on Download tool Now.
This will allow you to download the
media Creation tool which will allow
you to create your installation media.
5 You Double-Right-Click on the file. The
file is named “MediaCreationTool” which
ends with “.exe”. It will be found in your
download folder at automatically.
Click on Yes when you are prompted to run
the installer.

6 Click Accept button after going

through the applicable notice and
license terms. It is shown on the bottom
right corner close to the Decline
button.

7 Select “create installation media(USB

flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC”
and click on Next. This option allows you to
make or create a windows installation disc
or drive that is compatible with any PC.

8 Select the recommended options for

your PC and click Next. Normally its
recommended to keep the default option,
thus while installing windows on your
current PC.

9 Choose an installation type then click

Next. Basically an ISO file is a file that is
only burned to a “DVD”, But in this case,
you choose the USB flash drive option.

10 Create your installation media. You

will be required to select your flash drive
from the list and click Next. Wait for the
files to install, after being completed, click
Finish. In case you are used the ISO/DVD to
burn your files, it may take some time since
the files are large and has to be
downloaded. Click the “Open DVD Burner”
on the “Burn the ISO file to a DVD”. Select
your DVD burner, then click Burn to create
your DVD.

Part 2: Booting from windows 10

installation media

 You are first required to connect

your flash drive or disk to your PC on
which you will install windows 10,
however, if you are using a DVD,
insert it into the PC.
  As for BIOS, it manages the data flow

is first. At a default state, your
computer will select your choice
once either Removable Devices or
CD-ROM Drive is found on top.
According to some computers, you
may rather use function keys(e.g F5
or arrows to navigate an option on
top)
7 Save your settings . You can rather
use a key prompt( e.g F10 at the
bottom screen which illustrates
“save & Exit). By pressing this, your
settings will be saved and restart
your computer.
8 Wait for your computer to restart.
After the restart is done, a window
will pop up showing your
geographical data. You can now
begin setting up your windows 10.
Part 3: Installation of windows 10
1 Click Next when prompted. This
windows involves your preferred
language and preferences for your
windows, select Next to continue.
2 Click Install now. Found right on the
middle of the window.
3 Enter your windows 10 key, then
press Next. If you currently don’t have
your key, then you can rather click on
the “I don’t have a product key”.

In terms changing of the hardware from

your computer, you can rather activate
windows after installing by processing
Settings > Update & Security >
Activation > Troubleshoot > I changed
hardware on this devices recently. Then
sign in using your Microsoft account
when prompted and choose the “This is
the device I’m using right now” Option.
And Activate

to settings > Update & security > System
> About > Device Manger.

2.1.5 Identification and description of

unresolved issues
The identified problem that was there
was during the bootable drive whereby
we used 4GB flash drive which rufus
detected and was too small for the boot
image. Now, we switched to a 16GB
flash drive then the image will run
without no problems.
2.2 PART B: Anti-Virus
installation

An antivirus software is a program based to

detect and eliminate viruses from your
computer. The program includes threat
detection and protection from potential
vulnerabilities as they occur. Identification
criteria for antivirus software are as follow:
Behavior based detection
It normally looks at for malicious actions of
malware. However, it is less reliant on
updates to the signature and it can often
detect new threats faster than signature
based detection. (InfoExchange, 2023)

Signature based detection

On the other hand it detects software
catches threats by signature of malicious
code making it unique to that specific virus.
However, this makes it easy and accurate in
detecting and Identifying threats where it is
able to match them with the known code.

Selecting an antivirus software that finds

real threats reliably without clean files
and is able to combine all three
detection methods is the best choice,
since it ensure maximum protection
from all malware.
