COMPOSITE PRODUCT BUILDER

INTENDED AUDIENCE

The content of this document is designed to facilitate the users -managers,


supervisors, and others of the Composite Product Builder PrestaShop
Module. A step by step instruction has been added to this document to
help users to install the module on PrestaShop.

As a safe practice always backup your files and database before installing
any module on PrestaShop. If you are looking for someone to install the
module, we can do it for you as well. Just go to the following link and let
support know the order id to expedite the installation process.

Once you have installed please see the User Guide to help you understand
how to use the module to its full capacity. If you still have questions feel

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Log in to PrestaShop administration panel, go to Modules → Click Add new module

2. Select compositeproductbuilder.zip which you downloaded and click upload this Module

3. Scroll down and find Composite Product Builder and click Install. You are done

4. Clear Cache in Advance Parameters → Performance

HOW TO CONFIGURE THE MODULE

At the back office, go to Module Manager and you will find Composite Product Builder. Click on
Configure to continue.

Here you can configure the following:

SETTINGS

• Abandoned Component Product Hours: Set abandoned component products in cart


from last X hours. (Default:24 hours)

• Composite Products Stock Management: Configure how your composite


products/product item quantity behaves on a successful order. You can either decrease
main composite product only, decrease composite items only or both.

HOW TO ADD/EDIT PRODUCT COMPOSITE OPTIONS

It is recommended that you first add all the compiste product items first then create a new
product for main Composite product. For example if you want to add a Customizable PC with
multiple items then first add components like, RAMs, Graphic Cards and Processor etc. Then
create a new product named Customizable PC and edit this product, go to module section to
add items to it. At the back office, go to Catalog > Products. Add or Edit main composite
Product then select Configurable Composite Product Builder tab as shown below.

Next you will see following selections. First of select the main layout from “Layout Option” on
top left hand side. There are three options to choose from Simple list, Accrodian and Steps.

Now you will add the components, Click on “Add Component” to add a component. Clicking in
it you will have to privode the following information to create product composite.

• Name: Name of the component

• Description: Some short description

• Selection Type: Here you will choose how to add products for this component, you can
add single products, whole categories or by using tags. Make sure you have already
added these items separately.

• Start Typing Here: As you enter words the products will appear.

• Selection Style: Select how these items will be shown inside the compnenets. There are
three options:

 Radio Buttons

 Dropdown

 Thumbnails

• Minimum Qty: Select min qty that user will have to select for this component.

• Maximum Qty: Select max qty

• Required: Mark this component selection as mandatory.

Similarly keep on adding composite product components.
