EcoStruxure-IT-Gateway
 A server or a PC that is always on with:
 Microsoft® Windows® 7 64-bit, Windows 2008 R2 SP1 64-bit or greater
 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or CentOS 7 or greater
 At least 2GB hard disk space
 Network:
Port 443 outbound for connecting to EcoStruxure IT
Port 443 inbound locally for accessing the Gateway web interface
 Devices to be monitored must be accessible over the network from the EcoStruxure IT Gateway

1. Sign up and create an EcoStruxure IT account

Sign up here, and follow the on-screen instructions to download EcoStruxure IT Gateway.

After you install Gateway, go to https://localhost/gateway/index.html on any computer with

network access to the server. The username and password is admin / admin .

2. Set up a proxy server

The Gateway server must use the internet to communicate with EcoStruxure IT. If you are using a
proxy server, specify the settings.

1. Click Proxy Settings

2. Choose to automatically detect proxy settings or configure the settings manually. Specify the
proxy server address, the HTTP port and HTTPS port used to communicate with the proxy
server, and the username and password to access it.
3. Click OK to confirm the Gateway server can access the proxy server using these settings.

For more information about configuring settings manually, see How to set up the EcoStruxure IT
Gateway proxy settings.

3. Discover devices

After you have installed EcoStruxure IT Gateway, you need to set up which devices you want the
system to monitor to allow it to retrieve data and send alarm notifications, etc.

You can discover SNMPv1, SNMPv3, and NetBotz devices with a standard discovery, Modbus
devices with a Modbus discovery, and specific SNMP devices with a Targeted SNMP discovery.

1. Log in to Gateway, and click the Discover devices link on the banner, or access the Device
Discovery page from the Discovery option.
2. Create and run device discoveries for Standard (SNMPv1,SNMPv3, and NetBotz devices) or
Advanced, specifying a name.
1. To discover Standard devices, specify an IP address range. Use an asterisk to search an
entire subnet: 192.168.1.* Use a dash to search a range of IP addresses: 192.168.1.100-254
You can specify multiple IP addresses or IP address ranges, and select either the SNMP or
NetBotz protocol, or both protocols.
SNMP: Specify SNMPv1 or SNMPv3.
- For SNMPv1, specify the Read community name (public is default), the Write community
name (private is default), and the port, (161 is default).
- For SNMPv3, specify the Username, Authentication type (MD5 or SHA), Authentication
password, Encryption type (DES, DES3, AES128, AES192, AES256), Encryption password,
and Port (161 is default).
NetBotz: Specify the Username, Password, and Port (80 is default, or 443 with SSL enabled).
Redfish: Specify the Username, Password, and Port (443 is default).
2. Advanced discovery is necessary for only the specific devices listed in this option. To discover
Advanced devices, specify the Device type, Device vendor, Device family, and IP address,
and specify SNMPv1 or SNMPv3.
3. To discover Modbus devices, specify the Device type, IP address, Port (502 is default), and
Slave ID, and other information as needed for TCP or serial.

All discovered devices are placed in the Discovered Devices list on the Devices page.

Note: If you find that one or more of your devices are not yet supported, you can request device
support here. You can follow the progress of your requests on your EcoStruxure IT Help
Center profile page.
4. Configure device file transfer settings

The file transfer method is FTP only. File transfer is enabled by default, however, you must specify
the username and password.

The Default Device Settings configuration is applied to all SNMP devices unless a device is specified
in another configuration.

Note: You can disable FTP file transfer in the Default Device Settings configuration, and create
another configuration to enable FTP file transfer.

1. In the Gateway, go to More... > Device File Transfer Settings.

2. Specify a name for the configuration, a username and password, and port.
3. Click Add Devices to specify the SNMP devices you want to access. Filter by device type, or
enter search terms for data in any column in the list.
4. Click Done and then Create.
Note: The Gateway gathers the event.txt log daily for most APC devices using the Gateway's FTP
credentials, apc/apc by default. Make sure the Gateway credentials match those on the devices.
Otherwise, a warning email message is sent every day for each device.

5. Registering and connecting Gateway

1. In the Gateway, go to EcoStruxure IT to start the registration of your organization and
connect your Gateway.

NOTE: The registration takes place in the management web interface. If you want to register from
another machine, you can register by copying the code and entering it
at https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage/register.

2. Click or tap Register with EcoStruxure IT and specify your organization's site address. The
registration code gets linked to your organization when you select to Connect to gateway.

6. Inviting users

You can invite other users to join your organization on EcoStruxure IT as part of the initial setup
process or any time later, granting them roles as administrators or users.

1. Go to https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage and open the Users tab.

2. Select to invite users, define user role, and enter user details.

Users will get a welcome e-mail with login information for the app. They can also log in
to https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage to change their own user information.

Administrators can also:

 Log in to https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage to perform user management tasks, such as

adding or removing users, or changing the priority list for contacts.
 Log in to the Gateway and perform additional configuration, such as configuring alarm thresholds,
configuring device polling interval, and enabling automatic updates.

7. Setting up call priority

The priority list is used for example if a Schneider Electric service bureau agent needs to get in
touch with the person responsible for your data center, to get in touch with the correct person close
to the site, and on duty. It is a EcoStruxure Asset Advisor feature. Subscribe to EcoStruxure IT
Expert from https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage and subscribe your critical infrastructure devices
to Asset Advisor.

1. On https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage, open the Call priority tab.

2. Drag and drop users to set up or edit the order in which the users should be contacted in case of
an incident.

Ensure you keep the call priority updated at any time to ensure the correct people are involved in
critical incidents, for example if responsibilities change hands or a temp takes over when someone
leaves the organization or takes a leave of absence.
