Difference Tour Leader and Tour Guide

The difference between the Tour Leader and Tour Guide can be divided into three, namely:

1. Schedule and Duration of trip

Tour Leader has a schedule and duration of the same trip with the tourists lead. That is a Tour Leader
must accompany tourists and tour follow the entire series from beginning to end.

Tour Guide only the duty explained destination is his responsibility alone. For example, a Tour Guide for
Yogyakarta is only explain tourism in Yogyakarta alone.

If travelers continue on to other destinations outside the area of responsibility of the Tour Guide, then
the task of the Tour Guide has been completed.

2. Responsibility

A Tour Leader is not only responsible to accompany tourists during sightseeing trips only.

Tour Leader also has the responsibility to arrange for sightseeing trips can take place smoothly as doing
morning call and ontime scedhule by adjusting the conditions of the time and itinerary that had been
developed previously.

Tour Leader is also responsible for ensuring that led the state rating and should always check whether a
complete entourage or nothing is left behind.

However, if there are tourists who broke away from the group when you're doing the tourist activities
without seeking permission from the Tour Leader, the Tour Leader also has no responsibility for the
travelers.

For a Tour Guide, responsibilities carried only explained in detail (and fun) about the ins and outs of
tourism in destinations which they are responsible.

In addition, the main task of a Tour Leader is not a destination but a lead explain his entourage.

However, Tour Leader should have a general knowledge about the destination you're visiting, and few
understand the local language of the destination (if there are differences in the language) so that
communication between local communities and the group can be established.

Since it has been licensed to guide tourists in destinations which it is responsible, then the Tour Guide
obliged to know in detail about the history and culture of that destination. Therefore, usually Tour Guide
are locals.

Tour Guide also must submit his explanation fun that vacationers do not get bored.

Conclusion

Tour leader and Tour Guide have differences in terms of schedule, responsibility and knowledge of the
destinations visited.
A Tour Leader whose main task is to lead the group in order of travel can take place smoothly, while a
Tour Guide has a responsibility to give a full explanation about destinations visited by vacationers.
