(C)A is True but R is False (D)A is False but R is True
15.Assertion: In the TCP/IP model, the Transport Layer is responsible for packet routing between
networks.
Reason : The Transport Layer ensures reliable data transfer, including error detection and flow control..
16.Assertion : A router is used to forward data between devices within the same network..
Reason : Routers work at the Network Layer and use IP addresses to determine the best path for data
transmission across networks

Section B 7*2 = 14

17. Define Bandwidth?

A bandwidth in electronics, communications is a range if frequencies (signal) that can pass
through a medium. Which is measured in Hz (Hertz) for analog communication. The transmitted signal
can voice, message, video and other data.
In the fields of the computer-networking bandwidth is called also known as Data Transfer Rate which is
measures in the bps(bits per second)
18. What is network Protocol, Give an example.
19. What are the four components of data communication?
Message…, Sender…, Receiver.., transmission medium
20. Difference between UTP and STP?
UPT – Unshield Twisted Pair STP – Shield Twisted Pair
UPT has four pairs of copper wires which are twisted to protect them from interference, inside a plastic
sheath. The UTP has a plastic sheath (casting) that is thin in size for protection. STP contains an extra
copper braid jacket or foil wrapped around the shield to save from interference.
Note: STP cable is expensive compared to UTP however, it is used for higher transmission rates over
long distances
21. Write advantage of Bus topology.
22. Difference between switch and router
23. Explain about optical fiber and write advantage of optical fiber.

Section C 5*3 = 15

24. Write Full form of - Bps -STP -VoIp -DNS -POP3 -IRC
25. Difference between circuit switching and message switching. One advantage of each
26. Explain Cyber security, hackers and Crackers.
27. A)Identify domain and protocol for “ftp://www.ftptest123.org/docs/test.txt
b)Explain what is an URL
28. Explain Web hosting and Web script. Give two examples of client side script, server scripts.

Section D 5*5 = 25
29. Explain Modem, Firewall, Repeater, TCP/IP, Evaluation of Network.

(a) DSL (b) RAM (c) WAN (d) PAN

33. Web server is a special computer system running on HTTP through web pages. The web page is a
medium to carry data from one computer system to another. The working of the webserver starts
from the client or user. The client sends their request through the web browser to the webserver.
Web server takes this request, processes it and then sends back processed data to the client. The
server gathers all of our web page information and sends it to the user, which we see on our
computer system in the form of a web page. When the client sends a request for processing to the
web server, a domain name and IP address are important to the webserver. The domain name and
IP address are used to identify the user on a large network.
1. Web servers are:
A )IP addresses B Computer systems C Webpages of a site D A medium to carry data from one
computer to another
2. What does the webserver need to send back information to the user?
A Home address B Domain name C IP address D Both b and c
3. The _____ translates internet domain and host names to IP address
A Domain name system B Routing information protocol C Google D Network time
protocol
4. Computer that requests resources or data from other computer is called as ____ computer
A .Server B Client C None of the above D a and b
5. Which protocol is used to surf the web? HTTP
