Scholarships and Discounts
You can learn more about the range of scholarships, bursaries and discounts available to
international students on our website. Some funding opportunities require you to apply now that
you have received your offer to study, and some are applied as a contribution towards your fees
if you meet our terms and conditions.
The University of Derby is committed to equal opportunities and seeks to admit the widest range
of students who may benefit from study as we value a diverse student community. We are
aware of our responsibility both to consider the needs of each applicant, and for courses
requiring placements to provide an occupational health assessment. For further details on our
approach please visit our policy page.
We welcome applications from the widest range of students who will benefit from study and a
criminal record does not automatically mean that you will not be accepted onto your chosen
course. Now that you have been offered a place, if you have any relevant 'unspent' criminal
convictions or cautions you must email myapplication@derby.ac.uk with details of the incident so
that it can be assessed prior to starting your course. Further details can be found within our
admissions policy and regulations.
If you are from the EU, EEA or Switzerland you will need to apply for permission to study in the
UK. This will usually be in the form of a visa, biometric residence permit (BRP) or similar
immigration document issued by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). Before you enrol for your
course you must email a copy of your passport and visa to documents@derby.ac.uk as evidence
of your right to study in the UK. Failure to do so could affect your enrolment on the course.
Please see our visas and immigration page or email visa@derby.ac.uk for more information.
