I want to apply for the Mark R. Everett Fund for Medicine & Science.

It has been a dream of


mine to go to college to study medicine or science, and having a way to pay for the education
needed to achieve that dream would be amazing. That is why I am applying for this scholarship.
Earning it will make me one step closer to my dream of becoming a doctor.

With my work experience, I am more than qualified to receive this scholarship. I have leadership
experience while working in the kitchen of my nursing home, where I maintained a clean
environment while handling food. I communicated a lot with my coworkers and the residents so I
could speak to people. Through programs like robotics and TSA, I learned leadership and
problem-solving. In robotics, I had to brainstorm designs for a robot, build it, and analyze the
robot each time it had a problem until it could run right. In TSA, working with a group, I
explored the effects of microplastics on humans and the environment and made a display to
educate others. With all these learning experiences, I have learned to be a person who can think
through problems and show leadership.

More than anything, my love for science and math drives me. I applied and was accepted to the
Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, and I am now taking college-level courses. I also
had the opportunity to go to many math and science competitions. I already know that I would
like to study medicine and that, with my background, I could excel in the field. All I need is to
get into college and pay for it. This scholarship would greatly help me, and I can win it with my
skills. Thank you for your time, and I hope we can discuss this in detail.
