3 Things You Need to Create Test Infrastructure in Copado Robotic Testing

Project: A management tool.


Robot: A test automation engine.
Test Job: Manages test cases.

Project Robot Test Job

> All three components are bridged to each other forming a scalable testing
environment. You need to create these components, where Robot should be
tied to a project and you can assign Test Jobs to the required robot.

How to Create a Project in Your Copado Robotic Testing Solution?

1. Login to your CRT account.


2. Navigate to your Organization, and click Homepage.
3. From the Homepage, click Create Projects.
4. Enter the required details for the project such as name, type, description, and click Save.

How to Add a Robot to Your Project?

1. In your project page, click Robots in the navigation to your Project pane.
2. Click New Robot.
3. Select the required robot template.
4. Fill in the required information and click on Create Robot.
How to Create a Test Job?

1. In your project page, click Test Jobs in the navigation pane.


2. Click New Test Job.
3. Choose from various test job template options.
4. Enter the required details for the test job such as name, description, robot, and other
parameters based on the selected template.
5. Click Create New.

You can also edit and manage your test structure later on.

How to Delete Project, Robot, Test Job?

Deleting any of the components in Copado Robotic Testing follows the same set of steps.

1. Locate your component (Project, Robot, or Test Job).


2. Click on the arrow to open additional configurations, and select delete option.
3. Enter the Project/ Robot/ Test job name (depends upon the component you are deleting).
4. Select OK.

Variables and Execution Parameters

Variables: You use it to replace or update test


data values. For instance - create a login
password to be used in your test case.

Execution Parameters: You use it to pass


simple values to test methods during runtime.
For instance, using the exclude parameter (-e)
for the tag name “elements.”
