Reflection: When approaching the Bernoulli differential equation, I systematically identified its nature and implemented a transformation using an appropriate substitution to convert it into a linear equation. This substitution, which involved introducing v = y-2, effectively simplified the equation. Subsequently, I differentiated v concerning x and utilized an integrating factor to streamline and solve the modified linear equation. Finally, I related the obtained solution back to the original variable y. This methodical approach not only demonstrated the strategy for handling Bernoulli equations but also underscored the significance of recognizing diverse types of differential equations and employing suitable techniques for their resolution. Average — Alanzado, Alistair Edward Reflection: When I was looking for suitable problems to solve, I could not solve it fully, only halfway through it or three-fourths of it. I found it I keep doing the same mistakes for over 5 problems I attempted to solve. When I solved this particular problem, I realized I have to keep track of everything properly, most especially the signs and variables of the equations, so as to not make a deep mistake resulting to rewriting the whole solution. From what I have learned in class as well, I applied the systematic way to solving DEs, from which I managed to do it cleanly this time. Reference: Zill, D. G. (2013). Challenging — Hervias, Darssy Brixgian Reflection: A Bernoulli differential equation is a specific type of first-order ordinary differential equation that, with the right substitution, can be converted into a linear differential equation. It features the dependent variable y, the independent variable x, known functions P(x) and Q(x), and a constant n. The primary objective is to discover an appropriate substitution, often v = y^1−n, that transforms it into a linear differential equation, simplifying the solving process. These equations appear in various scientific and engineering contexts and necessitate a distinct approach for resolution.
