chance of being struck by lightning is about 1 in 700,000, lightning is a very dangerous weather
condition. Every year in the United States, about 73 people are struck and killed by lightning, and
about 300 more people are injured by lightning. Following a few simple safety rules can help to keep
you safe from injury or death during a storm.

2. Do not stand under tall objects like trees or towers. The tallest object in an area is the most likely
