2.3 Deep Learning in AV’s
We all know that Deep learning is the subset of Machine learning and Artificial
intelligence this deep learning has an revolutionized computer vision and natural
language processing , both of which are critical for AV’s. generally the machine
learning and deep learning uses the Large language models to convert the actions
into signals based on the previous data given by the user to an Autonomous vehicle,
the deep learning use the deep neural networks to communicate with the applications
for object detection and classification, mostly the role of deep learning in enhancing
the accuracy and reliability of AV systems .
Five main common functions of Deep learning are Perception , Localization , Path
Planning , Motion Control , Decision Making.
The function Computer Vision (CV) enables AV’s to “see” and interpret their
surroundings. By processing images and videos, computers can extract meaningful
information , identify objects, and make decisions based on visual data.

2.5 Sensor Fusion and Environmental Perception
Sensor fusion is generally used in self driving cars to combine data from multiple
sensors like Lidar , radar etc. Here in the one self driving or and Autonomous
vehicle we use nearly 4680 Sensors to navigate with the objects outside of the
Vehicle. All these sensors communicate with ECU to perform an particular action at
that time . The sensors and the applications are already trained with data sets an
using an coding language which can easily understandable by the ECU applications
inside the vehicle . The data sets are inserted and trained by the machine learning
algorithms like Decision making , K-means clustering, KNN algorithms , the
performance of the vehicle will be depend on the dataset size. Before training and
model we need to observe the dataset of not containing any of the Errors of the Bugs,
because which may lead to crashing if the Autonomous Vehicle.
Beyond Perception , Autonomous Vehicles must also have an control on the vehicles
movement’s and make decision based on the dynamic environments. Generally the
vehicle control and decision making algorithms are the brains of the Autonomous
